Okay so I figured this out a while ago, the binary in the end translates to 'father of philosophy', but that is not the key. Well at least not a straightforward key, the key is supposed to be 4 letter long (approximately) to decode the second message.
Now, most people consider Rene Descrates to be the father of philosophy but his first name is not the key either.
