French here. But I live too far from this place and most of my friends who lives in Lorraine don't like that kind of stuff sadly.

Still I looked up the place on google and found that it's apparently a kind of ghost town.

The article basically explain that people left the village in 1914 because of WW1 (Verdun more precisely, we even had a ceremony some days ago), they still do a commemoration there every year since 1932. Apparently the war even destroyed an old cemetery. Probably related.

(same guy from the last post) Also, some nasty stuff are happening those days (crude, riots, even an oil shortage) I wonder if it could be related somehow.

Beaumont-En-Verdunois is not really a ghost town. This village has been destroyed during the World War I and as a memorial, we decided to not rebuild it. It's what we call : Un village mort pour la France. A memorial to remember what happened in this village during winter and spring 1916.
We got 9 of them in France.

Nothing particular about this place, mainly destroyed buildings.

Apparently an anon told that they were festivities there. It's not true, we celebrated Verdun's War a terrible part of WW1. It's celebrated in the Verdun's region but no ceremony especially took place in Beaumont-En-Verdunois. Ceremony of Beaumont take places in September.

You can try contact the mayor all the day as there's no mayor in this town....
