What would happen if a giant animal or creature (like Godzilla) died somewhere? Would it kill the land or fertilize it? How long would it take?

probably fertilise it, as the bacteria that break it down turn it into compost, and since there is so much material it would create a massive fertile area, but it would take ages

But isn't Godzilla highly radioactive?
Go read planetary by Warren Ellis, good stuff.

most kaijus are portrayed as toxic, so they would leave a mess

If that were the case I'm sure we'd see more types of radiotrophic fungi.
Depends where it is from. Unknown bacteria that it carries could be worldwide biohazard when it croaks and starts to rot.
