OP here. I was going to give my example but forgot. I got fired from a job once because the bitch boss thought I was stealing (I wasnt, she would sack a new person every few weeks because she was paranoid). I got drunk and pissed off, drew some kind of sigil wishing bad luck on her and the establishment. I think I was reading stuff about hoodoo or something at the time, about putting things in an area where the persons path will cross. I went into the place where I had been sacked (the boss lived above it) and dropped the sigil on the step. That night some people went past the place and threw stones up at her flat windows and smashed them. I dont know who the people were, I just saw the broken windows the day after and heard about it from people who worked there.
Not sure if it was magic or coincidence but once I sobered up i got paranoid that i had caused myself bad luck by doing that.

I once killed my school principal with a flowery death spell.
I filled a jar with datura flowers and a lock of her hair, and called for the Galli of Ereshkigal to carry her away.

Then I cast a spell to remember anything that I want to remember.

Then I was contacted by the rainbow-snakes and they told me about my power.

Then I was bored so I tried summoning Fenris-ulfr, and ended up bleeding out of my ass, because he fucked me in the summoning.

I got into chanting "Om mani Padme hum"
and then I tried doing it whilst frying my brain, and I got different mantras from Avalokiteshvara.

I chanted the mantra, but then I realized that avalokiteshvara wanted me to become a nun.

I stopped chanting the mantra, and then I learned about the Medicine Buddha.

The medicine Buddha was telling me all sorts of cures, some of which are hidden. But when I asked how I could cure myself of my guilt, he transformed into Neelkantha-shiva.

So I got into chanting again, and soon I got into the blackness of the void.

when I was in the void, I realized that I had been experiencing magical phenomena since forever, and I, for once felt like myself.

Then Kali-devi told me "You must wear the right clothes for you."

And then I realized I was trans, and so I tried contacting a goetia to help me.

There is no cost associated with using sigil magic, besides the cost of living with the consequences of your own actions. As long as you are capable of taking responsibility for that which you cause to occur, you should be fine.

When I was a kid I cast a spell to prevent rain. I said the incantation just when it started and it stopped few moments later.
I doubt it was actually the spell, because it happened somewhere around May and it was probably just a short summer shower (although, not much rain has fallen back then)

Well. My Mom raised me in the arts of spice magicks.

Known medicinal or otherwise, I've learned to mix it into food to help what ails folks, and how to channel the magic to guide me in the plants and herbs uses.
