Hecate is the goddess of crossroads.

At any place where a life could change direction. Death, aging, marriage, disease, if it could turn for the worse or the better, Hekate is involved.

Hecate is a bitch, if you are a strong woman, especially if you need no man, then Hecate is great.

Hecate is a traveller, she was found all over rome.

Hecate is also a homebody. To offer to her, take a plate of food, maybe a bottle of wine and leave it on the night of the new moon, at a crossroads.

She's also called trivia, and if you see four answers on your trivia cards, then that is her crossroads, dearie. Her crossroads can lead you to great things if you follw your gut.

Old-school hecakate worshippers literally sacrificed intestines and bellies to this "Goddess of gut feelings" and she accepted ones from cows and she was also sacrificed dogs. Her presence is sometimes marked by dog barking, especially if she's mad.

No disadvantages to her worship, except if you forget her, and she also likes being spoken of in whispers, I never say her name out loud usually, but my gut says 4chan can use it.

I don't know, guys. Not to disrespect Hecate or anything, but this smacks of flavor-of-the-month. Remember when we were all into Freyja worship?

But if your gut feeling says "rape that woman" than hecate isn't involved there. She is a protectress of the home, and a guard dog, she doesn't often help you become a homewrecker.

She isn't fond of cruelty to ugly people, or people of low status, as reflected in the crossroads where everyone would go, and leave food for her and thus her unkempt hags and homeless children could recieve food.

she's really fond of hobos, if you talk to hecate, you better be willing to give a dollar or two to that sad-guy at the crossroads, and say "Hi" to that big black dog that inevitable shows up in the next month after her worship.

Really though, don't be a dick, let exchange happen, don't block the road. DON"T BLOCK THE ROAD. Or bad shit WILL happen.

More a badass Titan female that survived the Titan massacre. Served as a psychopomp and then kind of mutated into Witch Queen. So your Fates and Erinyes and triple Moon gals all fell under that dark realm aspect and she/them came to be all that and more.

I've read that in the Wiccan tradition that Hecate is one of the aspects of the Goddess. I've also read that she is the Goddess.

Decided that dropping a home-made evocation wouldn't hurt.
You'll need to go to a three-way crossroads, preferably on a new moon; between 12 and 3am. You'll bring an egg as an offering.
You'll stand there; in the center of the crossroads; and recite this evocation.

"Hecate Chtonia Triumvirate, Queen of Ghosts and Herald of the night, hear me!

At this point, wait a moment. Listen for anything obvious, such as dogs barking.

At this point, walk away, don't look back at the crossroads until, at least, the following morning.

Hekate gets associated with a lot of change concepts. Moon phases, past/present/future, maiden/mother/skilled and experienced wise one -- stuff like that. So it's more three aspects as opposed to three heads, look at the OP pic, it's three gals. It gets abbreviated in some images so some art does look kinda three headed, six armed at times though. Snakes to the ears are a cosmic message delivery system, think Odin and his ravens.

Heka is the Egyptian personification of Magic, so it's hard to not think there is some connection to Hekate, Queen of Witches.

Note the wiki says: Heka existed "before duality had yet come into being." This fits nicely with Hekate being an elder entity right from the start in the Greek origins.

So to the more experienced Hecatefags, I decided to try and do an offering to her. It was nothing special, and I asked for nothing special.

However I was not able to reach the nearest crossroads. I took my dog and we ran as far as we could to try and reach it, but it was much farther than I had anticipated. It was 3 miles down the road, not 2. And I really wanted to reach it on foot to show a tiny bit more respect. But in not reaching, I couldn't drop my offering off.

However I had already made my request. As my dog and I left on our run, and I was finishing my little prayer to her, numerous dogs all over my apartment complex started barking. And MY dog acted very odd the whole time. Odd in a good way, mind you. He is usually not as...high spirited on long walks as he was.

So...did she maybe give me an A for effort?

In most Pagan religions (Hellenistic religion, which is where Hecate comes from included.) There is no devil. They had Hades/Pluto, and he was not evil at all.

The first thing you have to know about the christian "Devil" is that he didn't exist in original Christianity in the first place. "Lucifer" is a mistranslation from old Hebrew to Latin. Lucifer comes from "luciferon", which comes from the old Hebrew title given to a Babylonian king, whom the Hebrews delighted in seeing defeated in battle.

That's the very watered down version of it.


But the devil is a mishmash of Pagan gods that Christians hated, and made into something evil to dissuade Pagans from worshiping their old gods.

The first ''contact'' i had with my goddess was related to stray cats. I feed them as my offer and went home.

She appeared to me in my dreams. Was great that first day... not so good later but i suppose the fault was on me.

If you are from div you could always ask the cards. I was wondering if it was just a dream and did a 5-card yes/no reading, and later requested one from a friend. Both times i got 5 cards saying ''yes''.

Well i am not very educated on this subjects so i might not be of much help.

For me it was pretty clear, there were signs everywhere and my readings did improved for a time.

I did the offering to Freyja on a Friday night with full moon if i recall correctly. I am not too much into the occult but i have an easy way to find patterns.

I also offered a Beer and a Cigar named after her (not by me, the brand is literally called Freyja, its not a common brand)

Surprisingly i was gifted that cigar that exact week, and started seeing stray cats in my house and in my workplace. I dont believe in coincidence.

I dream a lot and have had lots of Lucid/prophetic dreams so it was easy for me to understand that that dream was different... like really different.
