>Meditation General.

I'm personally interested in a meditation I am now putting together although not done yet. This meditation revolves around the idea of our energy bodies being the shape of a torus flowing in both directions at the same time when balanced. From the root out the crown and down the outside of the torus is the female energy while flow from crown chakra down the root chakra and up through the outside of the torus is the male energy. When balanced I suspect can bring great benefits in health.
It could also be related to the energy vessel "merkaba" which is suppose to allow for astral travel and interdimensional travel or something like that. I do it for health.

Any thoughts? maybe some people already have a good torus meditation I don't know of.

Regardless, let's talk about different meditations.
>>
>>17533126
why would you want to go about all this guess work and trial and error when there's already well establish 'best' methods for meditation. they say it shortens the process from 20 years to like few months brah.

i also think what you're talking about is more of a visualisation tech and energy directing more so than just meditation
>>
>>17533126
It's meditation, you are supposed to feel good about yourself in the end.

That's enlightment in a nutshell.

Throw that link at me. If you have one with some good ("best") methods of meditation. To be honest my favorite is simple silent meditation.

I guess you're right what i'm referring to is more in the realm of energy work, but it is in a sense a meditation (at least to me) since you have to be in a meditative state first and during the energy work. I'm trying to balance my shit, so I'm trying to get on that energy work.
>>
>>17533161
I would consider enlightenment a little more than feeling good about yourself. I think enlightenment would be somewhere along the lines of being one with the universe and losing the illusory separation with it. Transcending the ego and all that while still being able to play it like a puppeteer.

Feeling good about yourself I think would be along the lines of being emotionally/spiritually stable. Which is honestly a challenge on it's on working on that myself.

well i don't have any links at hand, but what i was talking about is binaural beats and other forms of clever ways of tech enhanced meditations. some are done with lights, some are done with sound, some are done with em fields, but the idea is the same. make the body entrance with some kind of oscillations. not unlike a mantra i suppose. Google it up; there are legit scientific studies done, and it's well established and agreed upon by now.

monroe institute is a big player in those. here's an quote from wikipedia
> It also stated the opinion of the head of the Zen Buddhist temple in Vancouver British Columbia that "Gateway students can reach meditation states in a week that took [me] 30 years of sitting".[18]
>>
>>17533187
Why would you shorten the meditation from 20 years to a couple of months?

To feel like you don't wasted your time?

If that makes you feel good, that's your meditation.

There are thousands of method for meditation recorded, and more that nobody recorded.

They all searched for something, but when they reached it, how do they felt about it?

If they feel bad about themselves maybe they do wasted their time.

HA that's funny man, I was telling someone in another thread about the Monroe Institute. They were attempting astral travel. They are good at all that, meditation, astral travel etc. Best psychic tech and the like out there as far as I know. I want to go to a retreat and go at it, but it's a little expensive. I'm in college so I lack both time and money. One day though.

Here's a video of a hardcore spiritual hippiefag going at it. Not precisely what I'm after but just a show for anyone. What I have in mind is far less intense and while he does only masculine energy flow (from crown to root) I'm attempting to balance both male/female or upwards/downwards flow. Without all that body movement. So like sitting down in meditation.

Well what the dude was suggesting was attending or buying meditation technology such as binaural beats from the Monroe Institute.

If you have the money and are in desperate need of balance in your life I recommend any spiritual retreat really. Pick the one the feels right to you. Sedona, Arizona has some great ones and probably Monroe Institute.

If you don't have the money you can just go camping and forget about everything for a weekend if you can. Meditate any way you like. There are thousands of meditations online that you can find. Pick one that sounds like you would enjoy and be able to do. They all work.
Youtube.

I find strange how people believe that you can aproach meditation with preconcieved ideas.

>>17535096

Is time with yourself, it goes against your preconcieved notions.

I don't think you should do meditation to attain a certain goal, you certainly can, but wanting gets in the way of accepting what you got.

You are what you are.

Although I agree in that meditation is meant to be done for fun with no objective or purpose whatsoever; It is also very good for both physical and mental health which can give some people the motivation to do it. Once a person is balanced and healthy though, they would continue to do it for fun. For sakes of doing it, it's nice, it's relaxing, it's enjoyable. Now like you said during meditation all goals should be clear from your head.

That doesn't sound like a trustworthy testimonial anon. I thought binaural beats were proven to be horse shit.

Notice how the links stop once they start pedaling their bullshit.

>12 minutes of listening to this is equal to an hour of meditation

Great claims require great evidence and short cuts to enlightenment is the greatest claim and also severely sad.

Here's a link to the Monroe Institute:
https://www.monroeinstitute.org/

I think the reason they work there is because they have really high quality audio systems with high quality headphones. The ones you find on the internet are usually bunk. Although I remember there was a good website with some that mildly work, helped me see auras for like 5 minutes after meditating to it for like 20 minutes. I think they work but only if you have a high quality audio system. Otherwise they are not that powerful.

Meditation on itself is all you need though I agree those are shortcuts, but it doesn't matter shortcuts don't really affect reaching enlightenment because it's not a linear thing you achieve like that. It just happens for who knows why the universe or whatever, it's a gift.

Youtube some talks by Robert Monroe, the founder. He explains it pretty well. He also explains his own experiences and why he started the research foundation.

I understand the ultimate destiny is reaching point consciousness.

Now the reason why I'm getting more "elaborate" or "ritualistic" is because my energy body is pretty messed up, and I've been recovering. Think as it this way, my ultimate destiny is indeed to reach point consciousness, but my vessel is broken, I'm trying to fix my vessel right now. Indeed I could probably forget about this body and ride to point consciousness (easier said than done but yeah), but I would rather enjoy the ride on a healthy and comfortable vessel. Having said that I'm in no rush to become enlightened or be "successful", I just want to be healthy, comfortable and stable again. Energy work coupled with meditation which in my opinion are intertwined anyways is a good answer to what I'm looking for.
>>
>>17533126
>Regardless, let's talk about different meditations.
I advise just merging in the essence of your Master. Everyone has one.
My personal method to do so is offering a thought to Him when confused, then letting go the mind.
Very comfy and enchanting practice.

I remember when idozer came out and some of the message boards I was on were going crazy about the possibility of drugs without drugs.

Downloaded all of them, went to my audiophile friends house. Put on his high quality headphones and got annoyed by the white noise. It's was 30 - 45 minutes to get the effects of pot supposedly. I listened to that program for 2 weeks. I think the lsd one was the only one that kind of worked, I saw the tree outside my house looked 2d. Like it was a flat prop in a movie or play.

That was immediately after the program ended, what ever you call it lasted about 5 minutes. Not even really sure what happened. Could've been placebo, could've been a flashback of sorts from previous experiences (I used to get them from time to time back then, car headlights look animated and heightened).

I dunno. Everything I've looked around on after reading this thread. The websites all look like a bunch of salesmen. Outrageous claims fucking "super learning" I probably would've "super heard about it' and the military would be using it.

Of course I don't think the folks at idozer are by any means legit, if I recall correctly they're business model was you had to rent the mp3 or whatever format and had limited use, then you'd have to buy them again. So I just pirated them.

I do feel that these binaural beats seem to have lofty claims and that red flags usually pop up for a reason.

Have you attempted to go to a quiet place cross your legs and wait.

Most brain reactions can be estimulated by your brain alone.

If we take into consideration dream states as possible meditation results, we a have a lot of altered states of counciousness that can be reached with just sitting and waiting.

And we know next than nothing about this states that maybe one Lama reached once after 43 years of breathing and eating grains.

Your life is yours and your body is yours, but you sound like you need to get there fast, as fast as possible, as high as possible.

Some people want to reach a healthy cleaner mind body equilibrium, and you should start by stop pumping any substance or technology that you can find, and listen to how your body works first.

My humble suggestion, turn the electricity off, turn off your phone, sit, cross your legs picture an image of the sun in your mind and keep it for five minutes.

If you can't, find out why, the answer is right there in your mind.
>>
>>17533126

OP, maybe you can help.

I meditate as much as possible. I've gotten to where I get into a state of presence that has effect on people nearby, lifting their mood and giving them an aura of calm. It's amazing to see children look over and smile.

This is great and all but I feel like there's nothing left. There's not a whole lot I really find appealing in my interactions with most people and many of the activities people like to do. I'm not depressed but I've turned into into a bit of a hermit.

The craziest thing that has happened is a buzzing with a green mandala flashing for a split second as I was falling asleep, and seeing the pattern of life all around for a split second while I was at work.

Any tips if you have to scratch yourself during meditation?
>>
>>17540927
Ignore it completely, or if you get ones on your upper lip like I do that persist for literally hours, you can divert a little of your attention to imagining the feeling of scratching the itch. Imagine what it feels like; you know the sensation. That's what I do, at least. I'm no expert.

>>17540927

That quote's a bit "scary" to me. Does that mean that in the end, you "have to" separate from society as we know it? It's still very unclear to me but as I see it, I feel like society, work and such things are useless. Sorry, english is not my first language.

Although I do that when in need, in a way I feel like I don't want to bother him all the time. Also a part of me has the need to solve things on his own.. I am aware that's probably just pride of the ego speaking and I should surrender that, but anyways I do to an extent, I like figuring out thing myself also. Thank you though. I do wish he was alive though.
Dr. David Hawkins by the way, that's who I often call in times of questions etc.

>>17539441
OP here. That effect on people you have is a gift from the universe and not from yourself. In terms of spiritual advancement I believe that would be a good course to take, releasing the feeling of this gift being yours, the ego gratification it brings. Releasing the go is the next step to enlightment from where you are.

At the moment I'm not close to their hahaha I've been were you are before though, I had a bad fall though.

As to your interactions with the world. There's other feelings other than calmness, try being joyous and bringing joy to people try and make them laugh, try and learn some jokes, make it interesting make life fun. I understand a lot of the regular societal interactions are "boring" or "pointless" in a way, when it's a matter of gossiping or complaining about things. Like I said try and bring different emotions to the table see if you can direct the conversations in interesting directions subtly. Have fun with it. It's life.

I've seen mandalas before it's awesome. I'm currently recovering like I said. My spirit was affected pretty badly some time ago and the recovery has been slow.

If you are new to meditation and want the "full experience" I suggest you fast while doing it and look up Asana. Basicaly you sit in an easy yoga pose for atleast 1 hour and add upp as you go. The longest I have been sitting in this form is around 3 hours, but my goal was to sit a whole day.

The position that is the "best" is the diamond post (Vajra-asana) this is very good since it prevents you from sleeping. But after you do it you have to "lift" your body with your fists to the ground and spread your legs for some seconds for proper bloodflow or you can damage veins and stuff.

Nowadays I have stopped doing active meditation, and focus on my dreams instead I find it alot more interesting.

But one thing that bothers me is that most ppl who start with meditation expects to enter some "other dimension" and stuff in this pattern.

You are already connected to this dimension, there is nothing you need to do. The "helpers" as I call them make sure youre 100% connected and there is nothing you can do. Just feel and experience stop trying to something.

There is nothing special about meditation, sure if you want Shakti to meet her husband do it. But when you do it you medle with very powerfull forces and you have to convince yourself that you know what youre doing, or you can screw your mentality up and become a simple vessel for their powerfull love.
>>
>>17533126
Look, you'll find a lot of bullshit on this board about astral projection, out of body experiences and maybe in clairvoyance if the right nutjob chimes in.

Really meditation is just a way to allow your mind to see beyond some temporary feelings like anxieties or addictions as was the case with me. I really think it helped me with depression, and helped me stop doing some other stupid shit I was doing at the time.

Just take it at that, a natural way for your body to calm itself down without medication. I still meditate almost daily, it's great and I find it useful. But don't ruin the experience with this pseudo science bullshit, you'll never attain that spiritual high your seeking until your content with what the experience is.

>Does that mean that in the end, you "have to" separate from society as we know it?

You wont 'have to' physically osctracize yourself from society, but you will be separated by nature of your newfound understanding.

Once you begin to see beyond the lenses of the ego, you cant really go back to being ignorant anymore. Its like the matrix, you can still go back to the space but everything has changed for you

I don't think they should meditate for even close to an hour when starting up. It will only frustrate a person who's trying to get a hang on it. I find the 20 minute mark easy to achieve and not frustrating at all. Some times I'll meditate for longer periods maybe an hour, but usually due to time constraints I do 20 minutes and that does the job.

The rest I completely agree with.

Well I've had my own experiences with astral projection and out of body experiences, so I wouldn't call it bullshit myself, if you do that's completely fine.

I used to say the same thing, that silence meditation was all that is needed and that energy work/astral travel/whatever was only distractions in a path to enlightenment or well being.

Perhaps you are right and I'm wrong in changing directions here on this one, but now I think energy work is something I want to explore. Even if it's only pseaudo science/placebo through visualisation or however you want to call it, I still want to try it out, because silent meditation hasn't solve the problem yet.

Imagine meditation as physical exercise, silent meditation could be considered running and doing pushups, sit ups, etc. energy work would be something along the lines of playing basketball. They both do the same thing but I find playing basketball more fun, the visualization and energy manipulation could just be for fun, and that's okay. The results might be the same silent meditation might balance everything out just as fine, but maybe energy work is more fun to play with and balance everything out also.

Either way it's something I would like to learn and master. I can do silent meditation and I love it, but I'm not in some sort of marriage that keeps me from exploring other practices.

I appreciate your input though. And I'm glad it's done it for you. I'm still in recovery phase. Of course the problem originates from hard drugs, and chilling out my energy and anxiety/depression. I've been doing a lot better though recovery is going and I keep making progress. Now I think I can start having with it as I go back to 100%

I want to fully control my dreams. Im not saying im good at it but once a week or so I have pretty good control. A few days ago I found myself in a cellar-room filled with sand, beneath there was something I desired so the dream spawned 8 spades and I waved with my hands and started digging with all 8 spades at the same time. I didnt find a chest or so merely the dream went to the next phase.

Stuff like this is exactly what I try to achieve. To use my willpower to its full potential.

But what I really want is to dream about the forest, walking and interact with its inhabitants. I often dream about animals but almost never about being in the woods.
>>
>>17546133
Maybe after the first time.

But the first meditation guided or alone should last that, what it last.

It can be a life changing experience.

Meditation differs from person to person, attention spam, or just the moment the person is experiencing, meditation should start as a unique experience, make you feel one with yourself, at the first try.
>>
>>17546133
Well many ppl say you should start with 20 minutes and add up as you go. But for me meditation is like walking on the mountains and just forget time and space. And hopefullt forget about myself and focus on something else for a change.

But rly I suggest asana to force your brain to let go of the desire to constantly move, program it to be still and become an observer for a while. Give it a rest. Eventually the meditation will become dream-like or you can enter deep trance. I dont recommend the later without someone around you that can take care of you. But this is very hard and it can take a lifetime to enter this level. And you should never rush it, it will come when your mentality can handle it.

Now im giving advices and shit, I hate when I enter this mode.
