What happens when you die?

One time I was eating food while I was alone, and I started choking on some of it. Luckily, I managed to cough it out before I died from asphyxiation. It would have been very sad, to die there with nobody to help get that food out of my breathing tube.

Remember, death isnt switch, its process

That means, that cells wont die in instant.

Depending on how you die, you fade out, you feel funny as your brain is losing the ability to "feel" the body, adn then, you go to sleep for ever, probably you'll be stuck for a moment in time for ever without noticing it
>>
>>17528227
if you were able to save yourself you weren't near enough to death.
>>
>>17528288
Could refer to entropy

Is there any where I can go to find out about the afterlife? It always seems shrouded in mystery despite wise people out there probably knowing about it.

>>17528062
Just ask Jesus to make it clear that he is with you.

He loves us and he will show us if we ask.

It takes about a minute or three to die, no matter how horribly wrecked you are physically, even if your head is flattened you still twitch and leak for about 180 seconds or so.
I live in dread of those final minutes.
Sometimes when you lose/regain consciousness it's a black void that makes it seem like awareness comes first, then everything that you CAN be aware of erupts from that and entangles the pinched little point of awareness you call "you ". This is usually experienced when you have lost blood pressure to the brain for some reason.
The other version is when you're neurologically overloaded and everything becomes brightness, reality comes back as this brightness recedes. This can make it seem that your consciousness has expanded so much that you can't be aware of anything else, there's only you, the endless light.
People construct whole religions on these very real effects of basically mechanical and electrical fuckups in your body and mind.
Hallucinations can be experienced on the way out or back in to normal consciousness, they are artifacts of your mind. From an engineering point of view your brain is in no way a computer, it's a receiver.
When you're dead, there's no everlasting moment, no afterwards, you're over with and cease to be.
>>
I had what felt like a heart attack, blacked out woke up and my body was all flaying around out of my control for couple seconds.
>>
unless you want to talk about bright lights. That was another time.

I don't know if I would call my experience "near death," per se. I was in a pretty bad car accident a few years ago. I didn't get too injured, just a few cuts and bruises. I kind of figure it was like the ultimate adrenaline rush.

>driving down an undivided 2 Lane highway
>in left lane, cruisan'
>dump truck turning right overshoots is turn on to the highway
>whammy. He tbones me, behind my passenger door
>I spin around, skidding in to oncoming traffic
>I get hid head-on by a school bus that's slamming on its breaks
>wham 2.0. Not as bad. Just a really sudden stop
>I climb out the sunroof.

Now, I drove a manual car. I remember everything moving in such slow, slow, slow motion. Like 150fps. My reactions were so on point. I downshifted and kicked the clutch while yanking the ebrake, and powered over on the wheel. Did it do muc h? I dunno. But I do remember how slow everything was. Felt like I had forever to think in my head. Thought some crazy stuff about my life and what it meant to me, missing out on my future; a lot of serious shit, in the span of 6 seconds.

Overall, I dunno. I'm not religious at all, I have no belief, nor care to worry. I base my judgement in reality, so I figure that realistically, I had the adrenaline rush of a lifetime.
>>
>>17529468
I've heard of that "slow motion" experience before, but I don't think I'd classify that incident as a near-death experience. Near-death experience means stuff like leaving your body, a sense of love or peace, seeing dead friends or family, or having a life review.
>>
>>17529468
>I remember everything moving in such slow, slow, slow motion. Like 150fps.

Wouldn't that be fast motion? Slow motion would be 10fps or something.
>>
>>17532029
i watch stuff like theslowmoguys, one of their cams can record up to i think 720,000 fps, if you play 720,000 frames at 60fps thats slow as shit
>>
>>17529343
"From an engineering point of view your brain is in no way a computer, it's a receiver."
THAT'S IT !!!!
So the dying is actually the beginning of the real life (transmitter one)
>>
2 weeks ago i was walking alone to the bar, very late at night. I had my back pack on, was slightly drunk, but had taken this street dozrns of times before. Suddenly i was struck in the back of the head with something hard. I remember seeing one dindu as i was falling to the ground. I was then kicked in the head and face by i think 3 or 4 dudes. To the point where i was knocked out cold. They stole my bag, but didnt even have the decency to take my wallet and money. By some stroke of luck, these two big fat women saw me on the ground and picked me up and put me in their van. That is where i came back to. They took me to the hospital, where i learned that my jaw had been broken on both side and i needed about 40 stitches. Luckily those women found me, because i had severed an artery in my neck and would have bled out if some one didnt find me. Thank god for them, fuck the pieces of shit who did this. Had to have surgery on my jaw and mandible as well. Scary shit yall. Ive been having nightmares about it for the last week or so
>>
>>17534209
>two big fat women
that's one way to thank your saviors
>>
>>17534216

2 big black women*. Only reason i included that was because two normal sized women probably couldnt get me up. I wish i got their numbers, i wouldnt be alive if it wasnt for them

I've had a "life flash before my eyes" moment when I almost died if you wanna hear it...

>>
>heavy smoker for years
>unhealthy life in general
>was having short breath and coughs for a while but didn't care much
>suddenly having trouble breathing at night
>oh shit it is getting worse
>rush to er with gf
>can't even think of anything
>half conscious
>mask, injections and some other stuff i dont remember
>er doctor calls specialist doc to come
>hear them talking and rushing for something
>they wanna take me to intensive care
>breathing goes worse, medicine didnt help
>lungs is kill
>specialist arrive
>orders some stuff
>only thing i could say was "i don't wanna die"
>suffocation over a few hours is not cool
>more medicine then i pass out
>woke up barely breathing and oxygen tube up in my nose
>recovered in a few weeks but lungs got perma damaged

-I got hit by a car and thrown few good meters up and away before. You can't think anything there because it is so quick.
-On a seperate occasion my hand got torn apart by broken window shards. Almost died of blood loss. Artery was cut. Got 47 stitches in and on my hand, can't use my pinky because of nerve damage. I was somehow sure that I would survive (even though i almost passed out becausr of blood loss but stayed up for 15 mins more which saved my life thanks to a good hulk-smash-slap from my dad)

But suffocation was the only one that made me scared shitless of death even when half conscious. And no there is no light or anything, juat fading sight and other senses. I still lightly smoke tho'. May repeat the story soon enough.

>be ~8
>swimming in this public community pool
>didn't have any friends, never really did until about 11
>brother aged ~12 was there, he had many friends
>brother and his friends are like "moshing" or something on the other end of the pool, I don't really remember
>I think they were trying to collectively keep something in the air or maybe?
>try to join in because ronery
>somehow end up underwater, and underneath the large group of ~7 (maybe more like 10) individual pre-teen to teenage boys
>they are trampling me underwater
>every time I try to come up or float up to the surface, I get trampled back down by the group, as they all were doggy paddling in order to swim
>imagine picture, but above you is around a dozen pairs of legs constantly kicking
>they are unaware, or simply don't care that something is underneath them
>had the amazing ability of being incredibly ignored when I was young
>stuck underwater, also injured from being kicked multiple times
>fade into a tunnel
>and I really mean fade
>there was no distinct moment at which I was transported into the tunnel
>it was almost as if I had always been in the tunnel, hard to explain
>one side of tunnel is shrouded entirely in darkness
>the other side, very bright, as if it led to a room made completely of white light
>tunnel is ~15m in length (7.5m of dark, 7.5m of light)
>tunnel is made of bricks with a concrete floor
>bricks are all different colors -- a rainbow brick wall
>bricks aren't just colored differently, they're reflecting their differing colors from the white bright light at the other end; the bricks are strangely glass-like
>curious about the light at the end of the tunnel, but I move towards the walls to inspect them further
>body is in like a T-pose as if I am a 3d asset or something
>only glide when I move, arms do not swing side to side and feet do not move
>look at the bricks
>can still remember seeing its individually grainy concrete components
To be continued.

>tunnel looked like pic but, again, colorful reflective bricks for walls and ceiling
>somehow, just as ambiguous of a transition I experienced entering the tunnel, I am now back in reality
>at the surface of the water
>I must have floated there, or someone kicked me out and aside allowing me to reach the surface
>can still remember hearing the group who trampled me behind me and to my left, cheering/being loud/laughing
>hory shit
>cough the loudest and most violent cough I ever have coughed
>inhaled so much fucking water
>instinctively swim to the other end to get out, don't really know why since it obviously wasn't the most efficient route to get out at all
>maybe just being retarded because hypoxia
>maybe just wanted to get away from the group because spooked and almost died
>takes me forever to get to the other end to get out
>not good at swimming
>everything hurts
>constantly coughing
>head keeps bobbing in and out of the water, despite my best efforts to stay above water
>this causes me to inhale a little more water
>finally get out
>no one even realized what happened to me
>like I said, I was ignored a lot
>don't go back to pool for a while

Strangely enough, I didn't really develop a fear of drowning/swimming as a result of this.
I wasn't in the tunnel very long, and the tunnel itself was very interesting, I almost wish I could see it again without, y'know, the near-death part.

This site's probably for you then.

A doctor that studies NDE's evaluates NDE accounts that are sent to him and posts all the ones he thinks are legit.

Yeah I have had a couple.

1. Almost fell off a cliff on a military exercise

2. Almost had my head taken off by sniper fire in Baghdad. Only reason I am still alive is because the cunt didn't know how to shoot.

3. Have been close on several other occasions
>>

>at this point it feels like I'm 3/4ths of the way through a 1.14l bottle of vodka, barely remember any of it
>final moment before I crash, mom says I asked for peaches
>next thing I remember is waking up, feeling sore as fuck and tired; see like eight people around me - the crash team, the ER doc and my mom - and somehow have the wherewithal to be a smartass and ask "what's with the party?"

It was pretty much like waking up from a bad bender, without any of the fun that precedes it. I've probably had a few others from my days of nodding hard on fent, but

Fucking hell I've had a moment like that, it was out of fear of death, where I am suddenly doing everything so quickly, it's like something is guiding my body, telling my hands exactly what to do, and it's doing it really quickly so I can free myself and get the fuck out of there

That's me after being run over by a drunk driver while stopped at a stop light while I was on my motorcycle. After being pronounced clinically dead twice and in a coma for over a week I can tell you that I fell as there is no real Consciousness after death and it is basically just to sleep that you never wake up from. Sorry if this disappoints anyone I really don't like believing it myself.

I got sealed into one of these when I was in second grade and almost suffocated
>slamming my back repeatedly on the cover to try and break it off
>movements get slower and slower
>gradually everything just starts to feel a little fuzzy and numb
>time seems to slow down (probably adrenaline) and I see the face of everyone I knew flash before my eyes saying my name
>think about how little I've done, how ruined my parents will be when they found out I killed myself in such a dumb way
>everything slowly fades away, likes lights dimming before a show
>hear a small hiss
>my sister has pried open a small hole and I can breathe again
>somehow crawl out of the container through a small hole in the side
>tell my parents I almost died and my sister saved me
>'Cool'
>I can't get high without flashing back to it, therefore never enjoyed drugs
>Reflect sometimes

Seems dumb and standard when I write it out but I guess they're the cliches for a reason. Very profound impact on my life
