It's hard to say. Once upon a time would say it's external, but I've learned that people can dramatically change their energy on subconsciously to entire different states. 3 options here as you pointed out
1. It's yourself; something has caused you to throw up some very, very aggressive shields. You've locked down yourself completely due to some event
2. Environment; something in your everyday life is stifling you. It might be routine, a place of bad energy, etc. Look for something you do that is so routine you barely notice and leaves you void whilst doing it
3. Someone else; I don't want to suggest this but I'll include it nonetheless. Could be someone overbearing in your life is scared of losing you and is (sub)consciously trying to suppress your energy and therefore your potential, to keep you in the place they are.
