If we were oppressed, would we know?
Do the people of North Korea know how oppressed they are? I heard they think they live in luxury compared to westerners, so if things were really that bad would we even realise it?
For those who think we already are, what exactly makes you think so?

For jackasses like you, so long as there are humans everyone is oppressed. That's a sign of serious fucking privilege because you really have no idea what oppression looks like.

For most Americans if mommy cuts their allowance from $100 a week to $90 they're being oppressed. And I find that just fucking hilarious.
>>
>>17387125
where did i say that i was against infidelity?
my point was that the DPRK regime is against cultural pollution by western, capitalist ideology & social-roles, of which pornography is a prime example.

if your trying to stop cultural imperialists from sowing dissent of course you'll punish the possession of one of their most effective weapons very harshly.
>>

& i wouldn't say that that's the government's fault for perusing nuclear arms.

You americans wouldnt stand a shit in a full out war against north korea. Your fat soldiers wouldnt know what to do in rough terrain like that, against millions of people who dont have shit anyways and willing to die for their supreme leader.
When 60 people own 50% of the entire worlds wealth, we are going on the wrong direction dont you think? And countries like north korea and russia are resisting it and I love every single thing about it.

Yeah, they know(or at least they have a vague idea of the outside world from stuff like workers hired by S.Korean companies on North Korean soil)

Yeah, I heard something similar. The official party line is something like "Yes we realize that things aren't ideal here, but everyone else has it worse. Any evidence you hear to the contrary is just their propaganda and should be ignored."

No guarantees that most of the population actually believes it, though.

If people thought their oppression wasn't oppresion, then they wouldn't think so, though I think at least a few could recognize it for what it was.

The North Koreans are aware of their situation being economically worse than at the least in comparison to South Korea, but the propaganda tells them that they have moral superiority, that the South is utterly crime ridden (I think it was explained as a non-guerilla way by Koreans for combating the US and the Seoul puppet government) and still under the Yankee yoke.

The North Koreans are glad to have things like universal healthcare in contrast to the more privatized system in America and believe that their oppression, if they recognize it as such, is a necessary evil to fight off the US. At least some probably believe Americans are racially mixed degenerates who are so irredeemably evil that if a North Korean couldn't intimidate or kill an American, they would be raped, tortured and or brutally killed by them. At least unless that American's name is Joe Dresnok.

As for whether I am oppressed, I think I am here in the US thanks to stricter antiterrorist laws after 9/11 such as the Patriot Act, though I have heard that even by 1999 America could be considered a police state.

>>17386617

>they don't seem very oppressed in the city
Pyongyang City is the only good place to live, and is made to look like it's normal, when it most certainly isn't. Everywhere else is literally a fucking hellhole. Famine is common there due to the fact they are trying to feed 24 million people with ancient equipment and the fact their land is drought stricken.

If you want to read what's it like from there look at this thread on /co/. There is nothing glorious about that place, and the poor souls that live there are in misery.

every house is fitted with a radio that blasts out nothing but govt propaganda all day (or as long as there is working electricity, if there even is any at all) that soldiers routinely barge in at any moment to make sure is on and not being tampered with in any way. Guess what happens if they find it isn't on?

they know they're being oppressed. thats not really the point. south korea was a relatively totalitarian country up until the 60s/70s too by many accounts, and the Far East has been a strictly ruled region for millennia, just like the whole world

they (N Koreans) assume that its basically the same everywhere but worse in 'enemy' countries cause they don't get to see the outside world and probably have little or no concept of non-totalitarian societies
>>
should we force north korea to become slave of the rothschild bankers?? then they will be as free as us
>>
>>17386630
The people that visit North Korea only get to see the elite that live in Pyongyang and certain areas. If you live in Pyongyang you are the best of the best and live a relatively sustainable life despite power outages. The tourists aren't allowed to talk to malnourished farmers and the rest of the country. These people don't live good lives (before the famine though shit was alright). Most defectors have said the only thing they miss is the comradie among neighbors/family members (checking up on each other, making sure they aren't shit talking the great leader). There is a lot of people that harvest grass to add to their food to make it hearty.
