This general is for discussion of
>dreams and interpretation
>lucid dreaming
>sleep paralysis
>creepy dreams
>precognitive dreams
>astral projection/OBE
>all else

Before you post, some guidelines
1: If you need help with any sort of dream, lucid, SP, recurring, etc, or even just remembering in general, the first step to nearly all of them, is to start a dream journal.

2: If your dream is longer than one post, consider cutting it down, as such length is very discouraging, and few will read that

3: Giving advices or analyzing someone else's dreams does not require any sort of authority, if you think you can do it, feel free to give some other people a response.

4: Even if you don't believe this is a paranormal topic, you must admit it takes a lot of dream threads off of the catalog

Some websites to help you out

Thanks for the new thread, wasn't keeping an eye on the other one.

Anyone else stop breathing when they try and enter sleep paralysis? It startles me awake every time, though I suppose that's a good thing if I actually stopped breathing.

This is new to me and never used to happen, right now I'm just assuming its my smoking habit.
>>
>>17380939
This is called sleep apnea and you should see a doctor about it. Quitting smoking would be a big help too.
>>
>>17380918
I had recurring nightmares of getting hit by lightning, this went on for years causing me to develop insomnia and a fear of being outside in storms/lightning.

Why the fuck do I keep seeing horrifying faces in blue light when I close my eyes to sleep. It's pissing me off and I just want some peace of mind for once. Meditation only made it worse.
>>

I almost went lucid, /x/

>be dreaming that I'm at Uni
>my University is surrounded by forest and is isolated, but in this dream it's a mix of apartments and England
>hanging outside with friends when we watch a car crash into a corner store
>we're all like fuck, this is a robbery
>we run into our dorms and watch like 5 people get arrested (one of them was my adviser)
>the dream shifts to another scene where we fall out of the sky and land on a dingy, we appear to be in San Francisco because we see the Golden Gate Bridge but ti's covered in moss
>we end up in the campus bathroom so we explore again
>we reach the furthest point of the campus and some fratboy tells us to go back
>we return to the bathroom but I get stopped by my adviser who got arrested earlier and I have to register to be in her class
>she hands me a paper and shakes my hand, I remember the words not making any sense
>wake up

What did I do wrong?
>>

I've always had these dreams, but not quite as often as this week.

>dream flashes of things I'm doing, with no control over my body
>these flashes can last between 30 seconds to 5 minutes
>months later, it happens

This week I've been having dreams about what happens the next day. It's been 3 days in a row so far.

For some reason, every time I dream I can lucid dream (the ones I remember). This week I've had a mix of both. I'm so tired, even though I've slept 8 hrs on average (I work and study, so when I'm at uni I sleep about 2-5 hrs a day and I haven't been this exhausted).
>>
Do people generally feel things in dreams? Like, being able to feel if things are good or bad?
>>
Well, I have to ask again.
Is the ability to lucid dream influenced by your sleeping position?
Whenever I try to sleep on my back, I feel uncomfortable. And when I start falling asleep, a feeling of insecurity wakes me up. It's so annoying.
>>
>>17382957
I have different types of dreams depending on the position I'm sleeping in or am asleep in during the night, at least that's what it seems like when I wake up and can remember them.
I find whichever position your most comfortable in and can stay in throughout the night would be the best for lucid dreaming, but that's just a guess.
>>
I had a dream that me and my Mom were driving down an old country road. Then three ufos appeared in the road in front of us well we were driving. The three ufos approached me and my Mom in the dream and we put it in reverse and floored it. As we were flooring it in reverse I rolled down my window and flipped the UFO's off.

>Can someone interpret this dream for me?
>>
When you are practiced at remembering and being lucid while dreaming, do you find your dreams becoming longer?

I remember a few dreams where it felt like at least a few hours time had passed from all the events that happened
>>
>>17384640

You want to have a better relationship with your mother but external forces prevent you from getting too far

I am sorta getting frustrated trying to astral project, i've been staying still in my bed trying but all i get are sensory hallucination like my leg rising a bit or me being able to move my 'spirit hand
>>
I can generally fly when I realise I'm dreaming.... It doesn't happen all the time but maybe once a fortnight.
It doesn't really matter what the narrative of the dream is it just suddenly clicks "shit I'm dreaming, I want to fly"
Then I just lift my legs up and look towards where I want to go and I'm off! Been doing it for years now.

For firs time in my life, I experienced sleep paralysis and i have to say that i didnt fin it scary at all, (yes i'm overstressed with not going my uni classes and thinking I will fail the class, I'm studiying physics), I'll grenntext to tell you how it went:

>be me
>be 23, male, student (already said)
>was fapping to a asian porn webm thread
>that dildo going in and out of her vag
>tha ass
>remembers me my former gf
>hnnnng.jpg
>came
>not a lot, but send me to sleep with a smile
>start thinking im late for school
>fuck it im happy and sleppy right now
>comfy dream welcomes me
>open my eyes
>theres a soft blue light around the window
>actually it is around averyhing
>but
>i can see the bed
>the sheets
>a leg, WTF!
>there's someone with me
>on my bed
>right now
>its a girl
>its my former gf, wut
>feel just like awakening with her to my side
>so warm
>try to hold her
>cant move
>cant even move my eyes
>think ot self
>welp, so this is sleep paralysis
>It's not bad
>not bad at all
>can even smell her perfume
>relax myself
>'i love you'
>actually hear that
>sleep again
>20 min later, I wake up
>What a blissfully experience
>better tell /x/

So, I will answer any questions, i will take my case to any other board if suggested, except >>/out/

>huge tortoise, like half human in lenght
>they start approaching the turtle but come back to the edge of forest
>hear trampling
>some horses are coming
>theyre soldiers
>like full armored knights with spears
>red/white armor
>knights arrive just in the middle of the field, no face visible
>see the tortoise
>slam the fucking spear in it
>poor tortoise its open like a clam
>theres blodd in the grass
>its very red, carmesi, brilliant like a ruby
>tortoise barely cares, it's dead

Had this nightmare awhile back and keep thinking about it. If someone could chime in with an interpretation I'd really appreciate it. Keep in mind when I had this dream, I had recently stopped smoking weed after getting blasted everyday for the past three months, so I was having major bouts of anxiety.

>I go to see a psychiatrist about my anxiety
>She's an extremely pretty blonde woman
>She suddenly bluntly tells me I'm transgender
>Tell her that's probably not true
>She looks unfazed, gives me all these "tests"
>First test is something like whether I think in complete sentences or fragments
>Then she asks me some math problem, like "find this point of a square using calculus" or some shit like that
>Get angry and tell her there's no way thats true
>She still is completely unfazed by me and continues to repeat that I'm trans
>Scene somewhat shifts to my house. I'm with my sister and there's also some black kid I've never seen before there
>Both my and my sister are yelling at the black kid, apparently he was the one who told the psychiatrist I was trans
>He yells back at me and tells me that I told him that I was trans like subconsciously or something
>I'm extremely upset at this point
>Wake up feeling the most frightened I may have ever felt

Everything about it just felt extremely vivid and real. For the record, up until this point I have never considered myself to be trans. I'm not exactly the most "manly man" but I've never thought I was a girl or anything. Can anyone help me on this?
>>
I can't find a sleep deprivation thread so... Anyone wants to share experiences?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dreamtime
>a concept of "time out of time"
>or "everywhen"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dream_argument
>While people dream, they usually do not realize they are dreaming (if they do, it is called a lucid dream). This has led philosophers to wonder whether one could actually be dreaming constantly, instead of being in waking reality (or at least that one cannot be certain, at any given point in time, that one is not dreaming).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiddler%27s_Green
>Fiddler's Green is a legendary supposed afterlife, where there is perpetual mirth, a fiddle that never stops playing, and dancers who never tire.

I had a dream that I had sleep paralysis this morning.
>>
>>17387632
>up until this point I have never considered myself to be trans
has that changed?

>I'm not exactly the most "manly man"
Its a subjective definition, don't let others define it for you.

> I've never thought I was a girl or anything
again, has that changed?

Basically, just because you had this experience in a dream doesnt necessarily mean anything, how do you feel? Are you actually questioning your identity now?

If I were facing North, it would be to my West. If I were facing South, it would be to my East. In that direction there appeared a pentacle blazing with fire, and from within emerged three red entities with the bodies of a serpent, but the head and arms of a woman. I believe they are called Naga, though I could be mistaken. All three had some sort of headdress, while the one in the center had a blindfold. All material in the headdress and blindfold were of red-gold colour. They did nothing but slither forth from the pentacle and stare intently, arms by their sides. Anyone care to interpret?

Bump to keep this thread alive until m orning

Gonna tell the story of the first and only time I went lucid

>Dream begins
>I'm in my highschool (I graduated last year)
>I start out at the main intersection, as if I had just started the daily routine
>There's a hallway ahead of me and a hallway to my right. Directly right of that hallway is a staircase leading to the second-floor classrooms. Directly behind me is the clinic and the main office, and beyond that an entrance to the school. To my left is another entrance
>Kids with faces I've never seen before are marching to their lockers or to their classes. Oddly, none of them are carrying anything. No backpacks, no books, no coats or jackets. Just the clothes on their backs
>I walk with them, because I'm not in control yet and it's playing out as a normal dream
>I start walking toward my locker
>Halfway down the hallway I "awaken" and realize I'm dreaming
>I stop dead in my tracks, and not wanting to waste time, I grab the nearest kid by his yellow-fading-to-orange sports shirt and try to re-imagine him as my waifu (I'm not lonely, I've just never had a dream with her in it and I wanted to finally have one)
>It doesn't work the first time, so I start shaking him by the shoulders and directly telling him to the back of his head to turn into her
>The kid isn't trying to get away
>It's almost as if I took and put my hand over a wind-up toy to prevent it from moving
>I let go of him and he keeps walking like a robot
>I give myself the ability to fly and try to fly beyond the walls of my school
>I fly up to the ceiling and start pushing to break through and fly somewhere else, but the dream doesn't let me go anywhere
>Dream ends with me pushing on the ceiling

It's like I was trapped and couldn't free myself from the area that the main dream was going to occur in. Does this usually happen if I interrupt a "pre-generated" dream instead of making my own or am I just doing something wrong?
>>
>Be 13

>Loud high pitched screeching noise getting louder and louder
>Super bass drumming getting louder and louder

>Freak out til I move
>Snap out of it
>It's morning
>mom wtf
>Look up only discover the SP part about not moving and shit

It was too real.
I saw that it was 10:10 on Tue, Feb 28.
My phone had the correct background.
My PS Vita was on the table along with a bunch of other shit I know I saw.
And when I woke up the second time
first time depending how you look at it.
, it was all exactly the same.
It felt way too real to be fake.

Last night I had two nightmares, both woke me up so you can imagine how tired I am.

The first is which I was carrying my little cousin, we were in this pool at this watermark. It was totally normal, people were playing in the water and just relaxing. Then my sister came over. I noticed her top needed to be adjusted, I told her and she fixed it and we talked. As we talked, her friend came over with a horrified look on her face and I turned and seen my little cousin's head swollen and purple, his eyes lifeless. Apparently as we talked, I had somehow accidentally got distracted and held him underwater. It made me sick seeing that in my dream... I think it has to do with the guilt of not going to his fifth birthday party yesterday...
>>
In my second dream, I was possessed by the devil. I was crying and screaming for help, and the devil made my voice distorted and considerably whiny, like he was mocking me. At the end of my dream, he made me say something then "Satan lives within me."
I woke up all stiff and kind of in pain.
>>
>last night
>lie down to sleep
>it's going to happen again tonight
>as I'm drifting off I feel a weight pressing onto my shoulders
>my eyes open and I realize that I can't move
>shadows are dancing around me
>I feel a presence in my room

To give a bit of info, I'm a huge skeptic. I never believed in anything paranormal until I started experiencing sleep paralysis about a year ago. I can always sense the night that it'll happen. The experience is always more frightening than the last.

>I begin to breathe and relax, which usually releases me from the paralysis
>I close my eyes and lie still for several minutes, and suddenly I feel a warm draft go through my room
>open my eyes, notice a shadow that wasn't there before
>there's a face in the shadow
>try not to look at it
>breathe
>trying harder and harder to relax, making me panic
>I try to lift my arms and the paralysis gets worse
>it's getting harder to breathe
>don't remember anything else, wake up to daylight

Sleep paralysis is an interesting experience, and reflecting on it isn't too bad, but during the experience I feel like I'm about to die. Any anons know a better way of controlling it?
>>
>>17389379
Most times if I'm in a dreamscape that has predetermined borders, ie a school or building of some sort, unless I can see or have been in the outside, I can't get out. There are exceptions though, like if you create a world outside the school for you to go out into, before trying to leave.
>>
Last night I had a brief run in with SP
>be me in my dream
>hanging out with my cousins in my living room of my old house
>start walking to my room
>look outside of a large glass window
>Holy Shit there's a skinwalker/fleshgait/goatman type shit standing outside staring at me
>try to scream but my voice is staggered and kinda muffled so I can't
>try running away, but end up just waking up into SP
>look to the left of the bed and that spooky motherfucker is staring at me
>No fucking way am I letting this guy scare me in a dream
>tell him that I'm not scared of him and he can go right to hell
>struggle to move my right arm and reach out towards him, after I grab his stupid face I wake up

Only real memorable SP experience I've ever had, because I don't usually see monsters or anything during it when it happens to me.
>>
>>17391189
Now that you mention it, I think it was just blank grey space outside of the school. I think it was to make it so it looked like it was raining outide without detailing anything. I'll try to create a world for myself to explore before I try to populate it next time. Thanks.
