My best guess would it would have to do with your brain going into freaky defensive mode. It's not just me?! My main phobias are game glitches (falling through the floor, instability ingame underwater flooring like in gta SA, no clipping, etc). If I'm driving along or suddenly fall through ingame surfaces I fucking freak out, freeze up, throw my controller/swivel my chair away so i can't see/cover my eyes and call for some one nearby to reset it or if no one is there i disconnect the power to my pc/whatever im on.
