The FDA deems anything below 60 insect parts per 100 grams to be safe for human consumption.

Why do you need to know this? Because, on average, there are 8 insect parts in that chocolate bar you just scarfed down. Chocolateā€™s best friend, peanut butterā€”along with cheese, popcorn, and othersā€”also usually contain some amount of cockroach.

cockroaches - pretty bad phobia of those fuckers. i've had weird dreams (not quite nightmares) involving them, whenever i see one i feel an absolute feeling of disgust, i often imagine a situation where i'm in a gameshow or something i have to put my hand in a box of cockroaches to win a million dollars; i wouldn't be able to do it. spiders or whatever else, no problem, but cockroaches just set off something in my brain that i should not touch them under any circumstances
otherwise, i can't think of anything else. i like the dark/night, heights give me an adrenaline rush i enjoy, not even fearful of any other bugs (though the existence of mosquitoes pisses me off greatly)

I find that interesting.
I am a SCUBA divemaster, and big shit underwater does not bother me in the slightest.
But big shit on land/in the air sure does.
Objectively I am aware that things just don't really get bigger than say, an elephant, and any pics to the contrary are just shoops or drawn images.
But something about imagining huge creatures gives me BAD chills.
Watched that indie movie Trollhunters, showing massive norwegian trolls as a found footage-type documentary. Just about shit a lung in terror.
Shit like this is deeply unsettling.

>the second i discovered that you could use parasites, like, tapeworms and stuff, as a weight loss aid i went and started digging. the thing is, it turns out that it's not really as dangerous as they make it out to be? i read so many forums, and it seems like there were only two kinds of complications that people ended up with. either they overcompensated for what was being taken out and ended up gaining weight in the end, or they left it in too long and it made an exit on its own that ended in a trip to the hospital.

Wtf?

>know how bad this sounds. i really do. bear with me! it turns out you can't really just BUY parasites to infect yourself with on amazon. that was where i hit my first snag. it took me a couple of weeks, and in the end i had to put up a craigslist ad before i got any leads at all. when i finally got a bite, i had to meet the guy in a really skeevy motel downtown to close the deal.

WTF?!!

>i PROMISE YOU it pays off, though. it will vary a little, lady to lady, but if you do it right at some point the weight will literally just melt off of you. for me it was after about... five, six months? it was a little scary and painful when i realized the parasite had finally died and was on its way out. i skipped class to hole up in the bathroom while it passed, and once the solids were out the rest of the built-up retained water was gone within another week. when it was all said and done i had dropped 20lbs and after another month or two of a good diet and lots more vitamins i was feeling well enough to start attending class regularly again. i don't think you want to risk staying infected any longer than i did, is the thing. after that point the fetus is so developed it starts to show, and it's a lot bigger so it's harder to get rid of when you finally miscarry

WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK?!?.

That psychotic bitch put herself through that to lose 20 pounds, IN 6 MONTHS?! WTF Man?

I have a fear of objects in water. Not like a fish or some shit, but like if my foot touches a pipe or something I will freak the fuck out like there's a Black Widow crawling on my dick. Two stories to tell about this: I went up to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan one summer to visit some of my dad's friends. They had a pier on this big water way that was used for freighters. I'm walking along/swimming maybe five feet from the shore and my foot lands on an unexpected 3/4" pipe. Good bye reasoning. Second story: I do a lot of fishing , sometimes in a belly boat (pic related). this time I was out on a lake with a really weedy bottom and I dropped down this retarded little anchor. I pull it back up with a nice yank and I see this GIANT plume of shit just explode right underneath me. Good bye reasoning.

The idea of man made teleportation and escalators/elevators. Imagine if teleportation somehow became viable in our lifetimes. The thought that it probably just kills the person using it and prints out a copy of them on the other side terrifies me.

As for escalators and elevators, moving stairs made of metal teeth that can eat you if your shoelace gets caught and a small box suspended over a high drop with doorways that sometimes lead to life ending drops instead of the small box. What isn't to love?

Imagine huge open cornfield. You are lost without your dog and wondering, when a bison emerges from corn and starts slowly walking to you, munching on something. You can see red frothing at its mouth before you start to run. As you frantically seek shelter shadows elongate. Upon reaching an orphanage in the middle of the field, behind you are endless waves of corn, the wind is running and massive animals can be seen wondering in the thicket. Rain starts. You enter the door, but it is empty inside the hall with large stairs and windows. There are some distant noises, something resembling cries and piano. The storm is going wild outside, all you can see through large windows is pitch black. It looks like you are completely underwater. But while you gaze, you can hear stomping and mooing in corn through the cacophony. Suddenly screechy cry echoes inside and you recoil in horror only to witness presence in the hall. You feel relieved at first as you recognize your dog. But then you see someone behind it in shadow, the dog is not responding to your call. Stranger waves his hand and your dog approaches in twisted and twitchy manner. You are shocked, completely paralyzed. Your eyes slowly follow your former pet. When it is a yard away you suddenly realise that the black floor you are standing on is actually glass. It covers colossal mass of water, you just know it is the deepest trench in the world. An Deep One is waiting there when glass shatter. Kids, orphans with grey faces are running down the stairs, they laugh and mock you for your fear. You shout and beg them to stop but they jump on the floor and sing: "yellow-belly, yellow-belly". The glass cracks, loud bell sound explode windows and floor in million snowflakes letting the night in, letting you in the bottomless pit. The last thing you feel is burning cold. The last thing you see is drowned orphans in dark waters. The last thing you hear is your puppet dog ventriloquize "He awakened. This is the end".

Oooh, that's good. Ever read that Junji manga where people slide down into those weird wall holes that progressively end up getting thinner and thinner as they go down, until they end up unable to move and trapped in the darkness with their bodies unnaturally contorted to fit the hole?

Shit like that gives me chills, same goes for live burial and being lost in space. Generally scenarios where you get trapped alone and unable to move are nightmare fuel for most of humanity.

Same here my man. Games I blame for this include:
Mario 64
Shadow of Colossus
Spore
World Of Warcraft

They aren't even horror games, but growing up with them and finding horrible or huge shit underwater either made me really excited or really terrified. Now in games like GTA, Fallout 4 or whatever else open world games feature large bodies of water I expect something horrific to be in there. Luckily, there rarely is.

Parasites, especially large ones like botflies or Guinea worms.
>>
>>17371457
Why WOW? I dont remember there being anything scary about the underwater in that game. Just sunken ships and stuff like that. And what's in spore?
>>
>>17371799
Did you know that the majority of the world's population has some form of parasite within them right now? If you try enough, you can feel them wriggling around inside of you. Like a moshpit orgy feast where the main course is your delectable insides.
>>
>>17371952
There is just something creepy about it, the huge open spaces, sometimes empty servers and there were even a few HUGE higher leveled monsters just off the coast.

In spore during a certain stage if you try to go off land and swim in the ocean a huge seamonster jumps out of the water and devours your character. I still expect that to happen every time I go off into water during any game.

>>
>>17366656
My best guess would it would have to do with your brain going into freaky defensive mode. You close your eyes (therefore vulnerable to attack according to your brain) and you feel the sensations of water going down your entire body along with that running water sound that blocks out every other sound. I think it could be kind of similar to sensory overload or something, you're brain just doesn't know what to do.

Horses are the last thing any of you should fear. They're not but children; albeit children beaten, abused, and mutilated upon our whim. I would say to do your research, but I bid you not do so. As they say, the abyss does stare back.

Of the beasts themselves, their vocalizations are sharp, sudden, shrill. It's natively human to jump and be suspect of sounds so unusual and nary heard.

But you should not fear them. They've no more intention to crush you than you them. Perhaps less so.

With such confessed, you would do well never to surprise a horse. Their "Noping" mechanism is indeed a swift and panicked kick.

Me? I fear only man, he with his enduring malice.

Imagine late night, long billows traverse the ocean. Unhurried but powerful they crush at the bottom of aloof slender black tower. But even the highest spray of foam cannot reach its top hidden in heavy sky. You are at the top floor, sitting near fireplace, trying to keep warm. You watch fire, desperately trying to keep your eyes away of small window shut with wooden blind. Cracks of embers are so homely and trivial in comparison to shrieks on the other side of the window you are struggling to ignore. The blind is shaking. Is it wind out there, free roaming in vast expanse of the night? You know it is not, wind doesn't have so many legs to knock at the roof, wind doesn't have slimey paunch to drag. But you have to check, fear of not knowing is to much to bear. You throw the window open, breath in night air, but cannot breath out in awe of tremendous heights lying beneath you. Lonely moon hooked in the sky is fearful. It is the sole object to save your eyes of looking down, on black needle of stone you are peeping out of. You feel like a pinned butterfly and you are not wrong. Something dashed down form the rooftop, wet black claw quickly flashed. You breath went to gasp then wheeze, but you don't understand why. Looking on your bloodstained hands, clenching you throat and gargling on your lifeforce you fall out of the window. But don't fear you are don't belong yourself now. Gently grasped by many solicitous arms, like a child, swaddled and cradled. So many eyes, so many moons reflecting in them! You go to sleep, happy embracing your lover, as it cover you in thievish kisses. Thin red line runs from the open window of the tower, like sacrificial offering on altar of ancient deity.

Daily cockroach fact:

In Brazil, there's a species of cockroach that eats eyelashes, usually those of young children while they are asleep. The hungry little insect is attracted to the minerals and moisture from the tear ductsā€”but that's not the only moisture they like to devour.

An entomologist was awakened one morning by a tickling sensation, only to find that a "cockroach's extended mouth parts were imbibing moist nutriment from my nostrils."

I feel this way when it's too quiet. It feels like the air is closing in on me (if that makes any sense), and like I'm going to start hearing creepy noises or something.

I feel the same way, especially older video games. Pixels are very unsettling for some reason

Hourly cockroach fact:

Insect flatulence may account for one-fifth of all the methane emissions on this planet. (Termites are also prodigious farters; indeed, dogs trained to sniff out termites are actually following their farts.)

Cockroaches are among the biggest contributors to global warming, since they break wind every fifteen minutes. Furthermore, they continue to release methane gas for eighteen hours after they die.

Probably because of focus changing like in a dream. Dreams are like single slides from an old stereoscope that capture few strong feelings.

Everyone gets that.

Windows, especially at night. I hate the idea of being watched or stalked.

I actually tried to jump one time.. not off a bridge, but off a cliff when I was young. Wasn't depressed or anything and luckily there was someone there to grab me.

I avoid walking over bridges at all costs.

any bird that can swoop, walking outside in complete darkness, being anywhere near a elevator, can't play most horror games either since I'll get paranoid and hallucinate.
