It is, in my opinion. Great movie with a fantastic atmosphere.

Suspiria, The cabinet of Dr. Caligari and Carnival of souls are what I'd call "essential eerie-core".

It probably is scary to some, tbf I'm just one of those that doesn't get scared watching movies anymore. You're right about the atmosphere though, the soundtrack stills haunts me to this day.

Sinister 1 and 2. Even though they have some tired gags the premise is better than the average hollywood horror imo. Sinister 1 has a great ending, unfortunately 2's ending is retarded but it's still good overall.

Taste is something subjective in terms of movies. Im not saying they have a bad plot or acting, I just dont like asian acting nor am I able to take them serious. Stick with it if you like it but dont force your weeb opinion on other persons just because you think that you are a special snowflake for watching asian movies instead of american ones.

Okay like, VHS is creepy and scary but it's no where near the most terrifying movie. As above so below has had a bigger impact on me than VHS or it's sequel did.
