The Rake is an old meme from early /x/. Its a fake legend that we would lie to newfags abouts, back when being a newfag was still a thing.

Yea i saw the thing a couple of times in my yard. Looks kind of like pic related except it's smaller and blue with and the pole is wooden. I grabbed it once and it broke and the wood seemed rotten. I was so spooked i couldn't speak for 3 months afterwards

From what i've learned from internet copypasta, the rake is just a boogie. It feeds on fear, tormenting victims but never harming them physically. In most cases it is defeated simply through acts of bravery like attempting to tackle it while you're naked and saying threatening things. Attempting an act of bravery will backfire really badly if you show any fear because it will attempt to one up you and torment you harder.

Sleep paralysis can be caused by a rake eating your nightmares, if you don't wake up it will leave when it's done feeding. If you wake up it will start to haunt you. Normally it's just like a spooky mosquito, feeding and being annoying but causing no real harm.
