My own imagination and the stories my mom told me. My imagination made monster hands reaching out from underneath my bed so I'd run into my room and leap onto my bed and scrunch up against the wall while bloody furry clawed hands reach out at me.

I was also terrified of any old paintings of people because the eyes followed you and my grandmother had a room full of creepy paintings that followed you with their eyes. One time i thought one of the painting flew off the wall at me but i don't really remember what i saw i think i blanked it from my memory because i was too scared, When it happened my mom says she found me and i was pale and wouldn't stop screaming and when they looked in the room all the paintings were back on the wall like nothing happened which just made it scarier most likely my imagination screwing with me.

Being out of drugs scares me.

Oh shit, I just remembered a fucked up thing from my childhood, we had this neighbor that lived across the street in front of our house who was fucking scary as hell, his house was decrepit and rotten looking with an over grown yard and rusted white hatchback car. He had long grey hair about shoulder length and a full beard about 5 inches down his face, both were nappy and nasty looking. And no matter the weather even if it was over 100 degrees out side he wore the exact same long sleve and long pants nylon jumpsuit that was crimson colored, like dried up blood. Every day never saw him in another outfit. Late at night on some nights you could sometimes hear him having conversations with himself or hear him howling like a fucking dog. My mom and I just called him "the crazy man" or "crazy man". Crazy man was the scariest thing I experienced in my childhood, of course my mom would tell me to stay way the fuck away unless I want crazy man to get me. If I was outside and saw him come out I would bolt inside the house and lock the door, the anxiety I had just seeing that fucker is something I haven't felt since. Never got within 30 foot of that fucker that's for sure. Had nightmares of him breaking into our house and/or him abducting me and taking me away. Damn,that crazy man, never have I feared another human as much as I feared him. He's been dead for over ten years, we noticed his mail piling up over a week and a half and assumed he had died so we called the police and they checked his house and found his corps, the cop who went in told us that he was found laid out across his mattress rotten and bloated with rats eating him. Honestly, it was such a relief to finally have crazy man out of my life.

My grandma had an alf doll and I used to swear it was gonna bite me whenever I got near it. I used to think it was hissing at me or trying to talk to me. I used to start screaming and crying whenever she took it out.

Eventually she said she "sent it to the alf farm" with a lady that collects alf dolls. She probably just put it in the closet somewhere.

well i was raised in a very conservative christian and sometimes very ignorant environment, my mom was very liberal but most of my family wasn't, so when i was told that pokemon and a lot of shit that i liked was "new age stuft and satanic" i became pretty scared of popular media, particularly pokemon. i eventually snapped out of it as i grew 2 or 3 years older, but i gave away pokemon blue (which i regretted afterwards when i realized how dumb it was) at the time and i hid my other pokemon stuff deep in my closet. it all peaked when i had a very lucid dream where i was watching pokemon on the tv and out of nowhere ash looked me straight in the eyes and told me "i know who you are, anon" complete with my last name. i tried to turn off the tv and it wouldn't, so he started laughing and the tv started going crazy, then my dad tried to turn it off which is when i was nope this shit is getting too real and i woke up. i was like 8 at the time and couldn't sleep for nights
