Remember that Alan Watts, even though i respect him and his work immensely, was a popular psychology entertainer. That's how he made money. That's why there's so many recordings of him. What i'm saying is, he's an excellent Spirituality 101 guru, but don't hold on to his interpretations for too long.
He himself repeated this very point often.

Few of his ideas are worth keeping with yourself.
The great majority of his ideas are inspired from Hinduism and he believed too much into it... he then took it, removed all the gods and the practice and the entry levels for Hinduism and offered it to the general public, cashing out from it.
