You could just assume the akashic records is part of the simulation or "unreal" reality.
The concept is one that is impossible because any experience, any realization can all just be a part of the scheme. Even if you were to experience "breaking out" of the illusion, what's to say that wasn't just another illusion to make you believe that you're free.
