It's a tape people on here talk about a lot. There's some sort of binaural behavior-control shit embedded in the audio. There's a website where it's been converted to digital format, and I'm fuzzy on which version (if not both) has the embedded signals, but either way I won't listen to it. There was a thread a couple of years ago where someone listened to it while they slept and it affected their thoughts and sleep cycle in some adverse way. This isn't ruling out anything supernatural, either.

When I write my music I purposely infuse it with binural frequencies; mostly theta waves. I'm not 100% sure of its effects but it is quite hypnotic. I mix it so you can only feel it and not hear it. I write metal primarily, so it isn't really meditative. I'm probably just insane.

Maybe when it was in physical form, as in a casette or a vhs it could have something to do with the magnetic propieties of the tape, but once it's been digitalized, it get's lost to the process. So if there ever is a haunted tape, it's probably safe to watch it if it's digitalized. At least if it's sound and music.

When it comes to the None Of This Is Real tape, I've heard variations on what's going on - it's either really low- or high-frequency sounds that just induce generic feelings of unease, or something supernatural, but I don't really buy into the idea that music itself, like the sound waves, can be haunted. But the digital version of the tape is "meant to be played in shuffle mode" (like in Winamp or something similar), so could that have something to do with it?

Well, that's one of the things in it. Googling some of the other lyrics seem to lead to Wiccan things as well, so that mixed with the obvious Satan-y stuff makes me think it's just a gimmick.
