The idea that Satan is in charge of hell and punishes sinners comes from dante's inferno. All the bible says about hell is that there's fire and that it kind of sucks to be there. And it sucks for everyone, including the fallen angels.

further, Satan currently isn't in hell. he's on earth causing trouble. Satan doesn't go to hell until the end of time when Jesus finally kicks his ass.

finally, the torments of hell have nothing to do with demons torturing people or literal lakes of fire, but rather a whole higher degree of suffering which is too complex for me to type out on a phone.

I do agree KJV isn't that good, thats why I bought a rusty Bible. It really isn't a stupud conception though, alot of Genesis is mistranslated and many Bible stories come from Sumerian legends which is where Mesopotamian civilizations started

There is an angel known as the satan. It's Hebrew for separator or something like that. That's pretty much old testament, if I remember correct they don't refer to the devil as Satan until new testament to try and keep consistency
