So I've always read this card as right side up (meaning, not reversed). The reason being (and because of the spread) is that it is supposed to represent the initial challenge or obstacle to overcome or face. It's already a negative aspect - no need in compounding it with a reversal.

There is actually nothing too much to say from my side. I am usually quite capable of performing divination even when stressed, but there's a certain line where my focus just goes ''pop''. I literally can't see anything when that happens. In some ways, I'm essentially forced to stop for a good day or two until I get my shit together. Thankfully, such an occurrence has only happened two or so times, one of which some days ago.

If I end up reading too much though, that's definitely going to cause some issues that can influence my normal state of mind. That can, in turn, cause more stress in my day-to-day activities, and like a downwards spiral it just gets worse and worse unless I put a stop to it early on.

Scrying with actual, physical tools is less draining than only using your mental, visualization skills for that sort of a thing. I could probably do way more readings if I actually picked up scrying through water or some other reflective surface, but I never really got the hang of it the few times that I have done it. But then again, you have a point; someone who is stressed should probably devote their time and effort to solving the issue that is causing them the stress, instead of doing something that will simply drain them out more and perhaps leave them more stressed out than they were before.

Oh it is. That's what stress is. Stress to the point where pindrops can be distracting. I realized that until I can deal with the root, the causes, of my symptoms(stress) then I won't be able to do much, so taking time off to deal with these things is a greater strategy than continuing a reading attempt.

That is a very good analogy. You can actually apply it to many things, not just stress and what not. In general, most problems. First and foremost that comes to mind is something related to medical issues and especially sleep (because that's what I'm supposed to do right now, but look at me, I'm still here). You can chug sleeping pills all you want, but until you figure out what the hell exactly causes the issue you're not really going to go anywhere, only waste money on the pills and risk becoming dependent on them. So really, one should always look for the root issue and deal with it first. But you have to know what it exactly is. Sometimes it's simply too obscured by the branches it has grown out. May take some cutting, but at the end it's always worth it.

I am actually doing it right now; taking my time off to chill out a bit and only occasionally doing a reading here and there for those who ask for me. Doing some in the thread is surprisingly more stressful and more focus consuming than for example giving one or two in the IRC. I never figured out why in the hell that is the case, but eh, I'll leave it slide. But sadly, more and more stuff is coming up and bothering me, to the point where I'm consuming a lot of time thinking up of things instead of actually finding the time to scry.

You should try finding something that helps you sleep. Some sort of routine. Usually mine is to go shower to was off anything and everything, including stress, then I slip into pjs and sleep. Helped me with my insomnia to let my body know it's time for sleep.

You should try avoiding light for at least an hour before bed. Things like the TV, phones, and other sources of bright light diminish our ability to fall asleep and have deep sleep.
