I haven't seen a good creepy video thread for a while.

Weird videos/animations/documentaries/whatever. I just need something weird and disturbing to watch. I'll share some ones I have first:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ilHmpETJgZ0 - Noroi The Curse (full film) - if you've got 2 hours to spare, watch this great Japanese supernatural mystery. In the form of a documentary, it has so many unsettling twists and turns. I've not seen it in a fair few years myself so I'll probably end up watching it when I run out of stuff to share.

Daywalt horror is an awesome channel, posts a lot of well produced short horror videos

My personal favourite is The Many Doors of Albert Whale: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-ZD5cLlA2U
>>
>>15133881
Let's pretend there is something going on for a minute. Let's say that are noises that are going on in the ceiling. We, as the audience, don't have any information. Could be some renters upstairs, a small child, a wild squirrel in the attic. All of these are acceptable mundane causes and are by no means spooky.

Keep in mind the noise sounds somewhat repeated and is always "distant". It's a fucking popcorn popper.

The camera work is shit too. The is literally NothingHappens.jpeg: The Video.

At 79 views, it's obviously your video since it is unlisted. Stop being so butthurt that your shitty attempt to make something spoopy failed.

There are some legitimately eerie things in this thread and this particular video isnt up to par. It's Marble Hornets tier.

Their biggest fault was that the "storyline" was getting too complicated to follow and long delays between some of the vid's didn't help at all.

The Station Nightclub Fire is a classic. For those haven't seen it yet you get to hear the sounds of people screaming in agony as they burn to death. The shot of the people trapped in the doorway knowing they'll burn to death within a matter of minutes is the stuff of nightmares. Towards the end of the video you can see two people still alive burning to death.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOzfq9Egxeo
>>
>>15136393
This is really only ironically spooky at the beginning. Because you know things are about to go bad while the people in the video don't.

Also why does this shit look like it was filmed in 1986? The style of clothes and video quality, all of it.
>>
>>15136460
What I find to be very interesting is how the guy just happened to be filming the event. He was also the only person who recognised the fire as a lethal threat when it started and immediately backed towards the exit while everyone else just stood there watching it, almost as if he was in on it.
>>
>>15136489

I'm a bit late to this thread, but for anyone still lurking who might be interested, I've compiled a fairly large (~250 videos, 8+ hours) playlist of creepy videos from /x/ threads over the course of the past 2 months:

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLpjunj1qyW-AUN9dGphJ-EqX4ao81Oer7

The quality of each video is a little bit, well, varied, ranging from legitimate horror to paranormal stuff to "spoopy," and a joke video or 2 thrown in for effect - basically, an accurate reflection of the threads the videos came from, and of /x/ as a whole. It's a pretty crazy trip if you go fullscreen, put in headphones and set videos to shuffle. Not to mention, with so much content, it's basically different every time. I've gone ahead and updated the playlist with everything from this thread and will continue lurking / adding until it 404s!

It was a concert. Of course there's going to be at least one person with a recorder rolling. And as you saw in the video, he also went around the back at one point and even called out for survivors.

Being as far back as he was and focusing his attention ahead is what allowed him to quickly catch on to the potential danger.
>>
>>15131634
He has a lot of balls going in there. ALL THE BALLS.

If you didn't know it is not a great idea to dick around in abandoned buildings in Japan...

Not because of any 'spoopy skellingtons' but because there is a small but remote chance certain 'individuals' owned that building before and may still have some claim to it. If there is even the slightest chance you are dicking in these dude's business inadvertently this is -damned near a death wish-.

Even asking about certain abandoned places is a good way to get yourself killed or at least threatened.

Let me put is this way. Japan is just urbanized to fuck and back and developers just ignore these places and leave them be.
>>
>>15137814
It's just the way Yamaguchi Yumi rolls. If some high ranking member who owns holdings passes away, those holdings are his in death. Even if that particular family has moved on from the area that building, that property. Whatever... His. Forever.

Attempting to encroach on that on any way is... Well, you are beyond dead.

And as I said the Japanese take that shit seriously. There's even an entire skyscraper in Tokyo that's off limits unless you wanna die.
>>

There was a documentary where they go into that skyscraper. Motherfucker was creepy as Hell. Apparently they managed to get permission for a very limited tour.

There was a really oppressive and maybe LITERALLY oppressive atmosphere inside. Shackles on the walls where they kept their slaves.

They only explored like 1% The rest of the areas are off limits and no living person has actually been inside them for decades.

A whole lotta people probably died fucking horribly inside that bitch. I like to think Shredder's office tower is based on it.

I can't watch the video right now, but iirc he said something about succeeding to build a bridge to this world or something, so maybe it's really difficult for a dead person to make phone calls and he only managed to do so because of his experience with EVPs? So nobody else got any phone calls because most dead people don't know how to do it.
Then again the recordings were probably bullshit anyway. Why would that woman have a tape recorder connected to her phone?
>>
>>15136489
Honestly, when I first watched the video I thought the flames were part of the planned pyrotechnics because they started almost at the same time on opposite sides of the stage in a way that looked planned. I watched and read a few interviews with survivors of the fire and apparently a lot of people too thought the flames were just supposed to be there until the smoke started to fill the room and people started panicking.
What a fucking massacre. Ever since I watched that video I can't help but flinch every time I go to a concert that uses pyrotechnics. I always look up emergency exits just in case. This shit has made me so paranoid.

Looking for that weird fuck that does tutorial videos but they all have nothing to do with the title. The filmer has a high pitched voice and I can't tell if it's a man or woman. S/he starts of his/her videos by saying 'Hey tutorialheads!' or some variation of it.

For a first attempt, excellent. The camera work could be better, the cuts could be tighter, and your actors aren't believable. On zero budget, that's understandable. You're overusing the tension music a bit, but you clearly know how to use it.

Your only real problem is that you need a hook at the beginning. There's 100 seconds of "why am I supposed to care?" until you see the hands on the stairs. You could have had him waiting for a few seconds, cut to a view of him from an upper window in the building (suggesting he was being watched) and then cut back for the woman to come out and give him the keys.

Fantastic setting. Real places feel real. The concept is great. Something stalks a guy who's oblivious to it. I like how you handled that. Honestly, pitch this to a major studio, or even Netflix. I'd watch a 90 minute version of this if it had Hollywood quality makeup and effects.

A minor correction for those who want to watch the film from OP's gif.

What he means is that the US air force was already on site and, since they had a base very close by, could easily airlift survivors.

When the nips showed up several hours later, they decided they would actually have to wait until the next day before they could do any searching since it was dark when they got there (not when the USAF was there though, just evening.)

They figure about 20 people or more could have lived if the USAF had been allowed to S&R. Instead we're stuck with the 2 or 3 that managed to live through the 20F night in the mountains with mild injuries (since major injuries froze to death)

Reminds me of the made for TV version of Ju-On, specifically the camera angles, staircase, and picture quality.

So far these are the things I saw that could have been better

>the background audio noticeably changes between shots when there is no music, which constantly reminds the viewer that he is a viewer.
>the opening could have been a bit more interesting while keeping it uneventful
>the scenes in which the shot starts with the main character in frame are noticeably being started there. It might be better to cut the shot after he starts acting rather than right as he starts or else you get a millisecond of awkward hesitation
>Camera angles are excellent, although the first person scene down the staircase missed the opportunity to capitalize on the claustrophobia by following him very closely
>the scene in which the lights shut off didn't have a sound effect, so until he turned the lights back on I didn't know why it had gotten dark, thought the vid had ended.

Other than that, I really enjoyed it. I don't know if putting all of the religious symbols throughout it was on purpose or just there originally, but it was really effective at setting the mood. All of the scares were fantastic without being too much. As a matter of personal preference though, I think I would have enjoyed if it stuck to the small subtle scares throughout. I thought the face in the window was good, but would have been better if it had disappeared when he moved in front of it, especially with the angle of camera not specifically pointing it out (like any Hollywood horror film might have). I can see a lot of asian horror influence in this and it reminds me a lot of junji ito with the way you combine subtlety with outright showing the monsters center frame. If you ever get the chance, watch the movie Ringu 0, the last 20 minutes of it especially as your video distinctly reminded me of it and you might be able to pull a lot of inspiration from it.

Because Im an idiot who wanted to focus on comedy, but lately I want to make more presentable stuff. There is another short film I want to do which is about an isolated person in a poat apocalyptic setting who broadcasts a show on his radio as a means of occupying time. He begins to receive various unsettling messages after years of silence...Im still expanding upon the concept, and I may return to Foofie if I get a decent script together. Thanks man
