/a/yy I'm looking for good story anime but without the 'cute' girls it just makes me want to punch my screen. It can have some 'cuteness' though, just not too much.

Ergo Proxy
Erased
Owari no Seraph
Darker than black
Death Note
Seirei no Moribito
Arslan Senki
Things that are still watchable for me even if it has an amount of 'cuteness':
Hai to Gensou no Grimgar
Elfen Lied
Things I can definitely not watch:
K-On
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Nichijou
Madoka

Cowboy Bebop is really good, it has alot of serious scenes but also alot of funny scenes. Sometimes its cute too I guess.

Fafner Exodus is fantastic.
The first season Dead aggressor starts off a bit slow and "eva" like, but once the MC meets the UN the shows improves imo, The show really jumps in quality once you get to the prequel OVA afterwords and the movie, but the second season (Exodus) is great and looks fantastic.
