So today I woke up and as usually the first thing I do is start my PC. So here I am pressing the on button and I hear a cracking noise. Nothing happens, the PC wont start at all. I unplug everything and open the case to discover an awful smell coming out of the PSU. I am now convinced a capacitator blew up. Now I'm hoping nothing else blew up.

So I am looking for a replacement PSU. Shall I go for modular one, or a plain one? I would kinda prefer the modular one because I wont even use half of the cables it has to offer.

Also, how do I calculate the required power? I tried using online calculators but it gets me a ridiculous number like 200W...

I have the next configuration:
Gaigabyte GA-B85-HD3
Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz
ASUS GTX750-PHOC-2GD5
Kingston 8GB 1600MHz DDR3
Kingston 120GB HyperX Fury SSD SATA 3
Genius Gaming Keyboard Scorpion K20
MS MSI Shooter mouse
Speakers Trust GXT38 TYTAN, 2.1
Also a few other things, bluetooth, webcam, dvd drive, 5 case fans

My old PSU was a 600W one. I had stability issues. Sometimes I would get a blue screen. Nit sure if its related to PSU. It was an old one, probably like 10 years old so its not surprising that it blew up.

I shop at this store:

I need a reliable low or mid range PSU cause I dont shut down my PC for weeks sometimes.

Any help is appreciates.

What brand PSU did you have? There's plenty of garbage out there.

Offhand I'd take an 80+ Gold or Platinum PSU from Seasonic, XFX, Corsair or Coolermaster at 500W or so. I don't see anything that would draw crazy amounts of power in your system. Hell, you could escape with 400W and nobody would know.

I had Xilence XP600, 600W. It served me well.

I was thinking about corsair cx500. Would it be a good choice?
