I've been using Hexotic's YoutubeDownloader to... download from Youtube. So far it's been great, except for one thing. It always grabs the highest resolution it can and there are no settings to change this. This becomes a problem on my basic dsl connection when I want to grab a 10 minute video of someone debunking vegan bullshit and the downloader goes after the 4k version. I don't need a talking head in 4k.
Can someone point me to a Youtube-friendly downloader that either has adjustable settings or doesn't go above 1080p? I do have a 'flash & media' plugin in Firefox but it doesn't go above 720p. 1080p and above is served by Youtube in separate streams and has to be remuxed, something the plugin can't do.

You need to learn to use command prompt though

This. It's actually extremely simple if you can follow instructions though.

I've used this one for many years and I like it a lot.

Why would you assume the one I recommended can't do 1080p? Just because the addon you use doesn't?
Look at the screenshot I included, maybe I should have said pic related. It does 1080p and you can choose the mp4 or webm of all resolutions.
