Alternative to Handbrake for converting videos?
I've got a long flight coming up and I wanted to watch some old shows I had downloaded, but the codec isn't supported by my android tablet. I heard Handbrake was a good alternative but I've been trying it out and it keeps scrambling the video.
Does anyone know a good alternative? also here's a pic for an example
Vidcoder. It's based on Handbrake so might not work any better tho.
That doesn't look like a problem with the encoder. Looks like it may possibly be a problem with the source video.
>inb4 it plays fine
Is that just a small piece that gets messed up or the whole thing?

it seems to fuck up the first 25 seconds or so of every video I convert, and yeah as you said the videos themselves play fine before converted.

Only the first 25 seconds?. So the rest of the video ends fine?.
What is the source video?. Site? codecs information?

Xmedia Recode

the source video is avi, and I got it from here http://tracker.tvnihon.com/index.php?category=42
I couldn't tell you much about the codecs themselves.
Also I'd just like to say thanks for your help, but someone else found me a download link to the videos already in a format that works on the tablet.
Sorry for wasting your time.

Is this an Android tablet? If so, have you tried VLC for Android?
I really like avidemux
fffmpeg is probably best but I'm not familiar with it
