I bought this shitty 5TB Seagate External from Amazon a few weeks ago. It has started making a clicking noise at irregular intervals of 3 or 4 seconds during data access. It starts up fine and has no problem with data transfers. Is it just a loud drive, or is there an issue? I have my stuff backed up already, I just need to know if it is fucked, or if this is normal hard drive noise.

I have a WD external that does that when plugged into USB3 but it's fine when plugged into USB2. I'm guessing it's an interface issue rather than a drive issue.
Don't know if anyone could shed any light on this?

Sounds like the drive is going bad. Really sucks. My wife has the same exact looking drive (if pic is yours) and it doesn't do that.
I also have two of these (pic related). One 5 TB and one 8 TB and they don't make that noise either. If you bought it at a store, I would exchange it for another or get a refund.
Bad drive, make backup now!
