Every time i log into my PC I get the blue windows error screen with the code "mouctosj.sys"

It happened after i uninstalled my display driver. I was trying to install a new one to get my 144hz

Im buying a new Windows 10 disc to reinstall it. Any suggestions?
>>
Save your money, you shouldn't have to pay for it again.

Format the shit, make a backup image this time.
>>
>>377665
What does format mean? Im a dumbass
>>
>>377667

Re-install Windows from scratch. It will delete all your programs and stuff and make it like brand new. You have to re-install everything.
>>
>>377668
I tried to do that using advanced options. It wouldnt let me.
Says theres an error or something
>>
>>377667
>>377657
If you paid for windows 10 before, and activated windows 10 on that PC, Microsoft stores some identifying info about your Mobo, so when you reinstall you won't need another key, it will just activate itself, when it asks for a key just click skip.

Also there's ways to refresh your PC, aka reinstall Windows without needing a install disk and without deleting your files. To do this press the reset button on your PC when you see the windows logo well booting, and keep doing that till Windows says it's booting into automatic repair. If you haven't try to let it autorepair, it might work. In these menus there's also a way to refresh your PC, which I would recommend.
>>
>>377671

You need to format from the downloaded new iso disc. Your Windows is already corrupted somehow.

You need to download a new uncorrupted install disk. It's a free download from Microsoft. Google Windows 10 download tool and click the official Microsoft link. It is pretty much idiot proof. Download then put on usb or dvd and install from that when you boot up.
>>
>>377672
If you mean the advanced option menu, i've tried all of those

>>377673
Okay i have a laptop i can download this from. First i will get a usb. Will come and update in half an hour
>>
Uhhh, 32gb or 64?
>>
>>377673
Ok im back anon

Is it the driver updator or the disc image iso?
The iso link takes me to
"Windows 10 Creators Update now available" and "Create Windows 10 installation Media"

You said this was idiot proof, you're wrong
>>
>>377700

You need to start the laptop and as soon as it powers on keep hitting F8 or F12 or Del so you can get to boot options. Select the dvd to boot from.

I'm assuming you still have the microsoft iso creation .exe file. can you open that like you did before and post a screenshot of what comes up? I want to see what settings you used to make your installation disc.

No, I mean before all that. I mean like when you went to Microsoft.com and clicked "download" their little .exe tool and had to run it in order to create a dvd/iso/usb. That should have been your first steps, otherwise I'm not sure where you got the disc/usb from.

OP, "mouctosj.sys" doesn't appear on Google anywhere.

If you've not misspelled it, that means it's a kernel driver whose name is a random string of characters. Which means it's malware.

Once you've succeeded created an install disk, boot it, and when the first menu appears, press shift-f10. Then use this command prompt to delete mouctosj.sys, and you should be able to boot.

Then FFS run a decent antimalware.

>>
>>377779

>OP is obviously booting from created media

I know he's booting from created media. I told him to create the media in the first place. Problem is that the media he created isn't giving him the option to do a clean install. Not sure if it's because he created it wrong (which after seeing his pictures it doesn't look like this is the case) or if for some reason it's just seeing his current installation and not wanting him to alter it.

It should give him some option to clean install, select disk and delete partitions and shit like that. I've always seen this. Not sure why it's not present for him.
>>

It is mouctosj.sys ***

This is what you're looking for. If you want to format (delete all your shit and re-install a brand new Windows) you need to select a drive and install to it. Most likely you want to select the one that says Windows because that is the one that has your current Windows installation to overwrite it.

This is kind of complicated. I'm not sure what's on all those partitions so to start off with I guess leave them alone and install to the Windows one.

It's saying that because you booted it legacy instead of UEFI. Reboot and choose the other windows installer option in your boot menu.

Depends on your BIOS.

If you didn't actually want to delete every file on your computer, now's your last chance to take it to a computer guy and get your partition undeleted.

>>
>>377837
Just somewhere you aren't.
>>
We're almost there, anons
>>
>>377838

I am honestly not sure if those partitions hold your activation data. Bottom line is you could just delete them all and create a new partition by itself and it should install fine when you create a new partition to install to. The issue with Windows install is that I think it needs to be installed to a MBR partitioned disk. MBR doesn't support all those partitiont I don't think so you would have to delete all of them I think and then create a new MBR partition to install to.

If any smartesses in this thread want to jump in at any time to help me help him then now is a good time. Otherwise quit bitching.
>>
>>377838
So do that then.

It's the one marked "drive 0 partition 1: SYSTEM".
>>
>>377842
Your post is absolutely flat wrong, and OP needs to not listen to you.

Every modern Windows uses UEFI, and UEFI needs a GPT. You can convert OP's Windows 10 machine to legacy and MBR, but that's not how it came, it's not how it's designed to work, and the only reason you'd be doing it is because you yourself don't know anything about UEFI, despite it having been a thing for over a decade.

OP didn't need to format anything, all he needed to do was press "custom install", and Windows would have been installed into his existing partition without deleting anything, and all his files would have been saved in c:\Windows.old\ .

This is what i get when i try to format drive 0 parition 1
>>
>>377838
You can format partition 1 at the screen you chose to install to partition 3 on.

Make sure to format it fat32, then reboot after you've formatted it and boot into the UEFI version of the installer again.
>>
>>377848
Custom instal takes me to the screen I've been screenshotting. He never yold me to delete the Windows parition thing, I did it cause i thought i had to do it in order to replace.

Anyway, got any suggestions on what to do at this stage?
>>
>>377849
You've formatted it correctly. Now choose to install Windows to partition 3.

Partition 1 is for the BIOS and needs to be FAT32 so the BIOS can read it. Partition 3 is for Windows and needs to be NTFS so Windows can store file permissions on it.
>>
>>377848

Then help him faggot. Quit trying to teach me shit, My PC works perfectly fine. Why does he still have trouble if you know so much?

>inb4 you software fucked his pc so now he has to throw it in the garbage

He can install Windows again. Quit circle jerking and fucking tell him how to do it.
>>
>>377854
Mainly because you keep telling him to do things that either fuck it up more or waste his time, like re-creating media that worked perfectly in the first place.
>>
>>377856

Nigger, I haven't told him to do things for like 8 posts. Do you need me to jump in again because you've had the opportunity and his shit is still fucked up.
>>
>>377853
Going back to sandisk parition 1

How do i make sure parition is fat32?
And does load driver = install?
Because formatting doesnt do anything

It should work perfectly fine from after this. Not sure how if your activation will work fine though since the partitions have been altered.
>>
>>377863
It's Windows 10, it activates out a key in your BIOS.

All OP needs to do is press "I don't have a product key" during setup, and Windows will activate itself the first time it boots.
