Trying to find the name of a manga
Art style looks similar to pic related. Main character is a little girl in feudal japan who one picks up a purse full of beans (can't really remember if it was beans or something shiny) that a giant magic bird dropped off,
Her father is blind because he gouged out his own eyes out of shame for sacrificing his son to the gods (i could be wrong about that)
Everyone in the town dies at the age of 40 regardless of their health
first chapter i think is about the father being asked to participate in the funeral procession for a noble and then a sword fight breaks out
there are four huge ass gods/statues that are posted to the north, east, south and west
Also, the little girl rides the bird and flies so high she fucking sees sky scrapers beyond the mountain range that encompasses her village
It sounds like a clusterfuck, and it is
but i can't remember the name for the life of me
who remembers this story?
That Opening Post Who Wasn't Clever.
Also, while seeing the funeral procession, the little girl is instructed to bow to the nobles and realizes she's of the lower class and describes it as her worst day
Alot happens within the first few chapters. I think the opening was actually a priest wearing an animal mask explaining that their culture sacrifices children if the omens suggest famine or disaster.
Some one definitely knows the one im talking about

Idk but it sounds like a matsumoto taiyou manga I read about mask wearing people.
It sounds interesting, but all Im doing now is wishing someone would translate the Ran and Gray world's authors new manga,

His art style seems way different from the one I read
but thanks for the suggestion. I'm looking at his works now to confirm if that is the case
bump
also, the blind samurai as it turns out did not kill one of his baby boys and this boy has been raised in the wild, wears animal pelts, and was the one to engage him in a swordfight during the funeral procession.
