I want to heat up my sake, so can I do it by bringing my water up to a boil and then letting my room temp glass of sake sit in the water for a few minutes? My grandma insists that I'm going to break her glass by doing this

Moving glass from cold to hot too quickly can crack it. Maybe put the glass into the water before you boil it - ensuring the glass doesn't just rest on the bottom of what I assume is a saucepan or something.
