My computer (hp pavilion) has been running into harddrive related issues lately. I replaced the originial harddrive (HGST, 1 tb, 5400 rpm, 2.5 inch, SATA) with a storebought one (Toshiba, 1 tb, 5400 rpm, 2.5 inch, SATA 2). Due to the storebought harddrive not having any operating system, I created an installation media for windows 10 using this link (https://www.microsoft.com/da-dk/software-download/windows10) and dried to put it on my new harddisk, however it didn't work immediatly, so I followed the instructions in this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAm_M3WdG7I) however instead of booting it showed pic related. How can I resolve the problem?

Take it back and get it replaced under warranty.
SMART failure is an open and shut case. It only says SMART failure if the disk is about to die.

But if it is a harddrive problem, shouldn't replacing it help?

ive had this problem when replacing a hdd it still shows this message from the last hdd, can't remember what i did exactly but i think going into OP and then restarting fixed it
Did you try to go into system diagnostics and running the hard disk test?

Yes but following message pops up: NOT AVAILABLE

Probably because I replaced the old HGST harddrive with a Toshiba one.
Try going into BIOS settings and looking for a SMART option. Disable it.
Reading around on the net, it seems it stems from BIOS reading data off your HDD and determining how close it is to failure.
So, might also be a faulty HDD from the store. I'd try to replace it. Nothing to lose.

How do I disable SMART? I haven't found any such option on the BIOS.

Some don't let you disable it.
Might try going in for a warranty replacement, sorry.
