Is there an ideal way to store vinyl?
Currently have them propped up next to my cds but not sure if this will or will not bend/damage them in any way

In their hull in that paper sleeve is a very good way, the paper sucks in any excess humidity and they are protected from light. You could additionally put them in a bag and vacuum it to prevent dust, but dust at vinyl is often appreciated, as it is what causes the characteristic crackling noises, and it doesn't damage them.
