If you're needing a 16x16 glyph, you should redraw it by hand. 16x16 pixels is nowhere near enough for a machine conversion to capture the detail.

i think you're right, long term it should be a svg or something

i also need a ferry, and train, since you may have noticed some of the "busses" are in the river. they are actually boats lol

In the long-term, you should probably use hand-drawn bitmaps for 16x16, 24x24, and 32x32, only switching to SVG when there's enough pixels for the SVG renderer to do it justice.

Have a look for icon design on fiverr; there are loads of freelancers who'll do all the sizes you need at $5 per picture.
