Not OP, but this type of statement shows up in the context of self-improvement quite a bit. Prime example:
>How the fuck do I really lose weight? Don't just say "eat less, exercise more" I want a real answer!
You can say that "eat less, exercise more" is vague and obvious, but that doesn't mean it isn't a valid answer. It's just not what OP wants, either because they're unable to use the answer, or they're simply unwilling to believe it. And to their credit, a correct answer isn't necessarily a helpful answer, so they may be frustrated at a simple answer they can't work with. To them, a real answer would be a step-by-step weight loss strategy with meal-planning, exercise routines, etc. directly told to them.
