Can you recommend me some good horror anime that isn't some edgy shit? Everything is good unless it contains edgelords.
Mononoke

What kind of edgelord character you don't like?

I was talking about those types of characters that are painted black and red in order to make is somehow scary. You don't really need stuff like that.

There aren't really any true horror anime, you get thrillers at best.
>Perfect Blue
>Paranoia Agent
>Paprika
>Mononoke
>Shiki (kinda hard recommending this one given that the first half is pretty uneventful, but I think it's worth it for the other half)
>Parasyte (from what I know, some people don't like this adaptation)
>Aoi Bungaku (only the first story, maybe the folk tale one too)
>Vampire Hunter
>Hellsing
>Jigoku Shoujo (I used to watch this one back when I was a kid, it was spooky back then, now probably not so much)

I don't think any of these are 2edgy but taste differ so I don't know.
There's also a Junji Ito anime adaptation coming next year.

I kinda get it. The reason why I asked about it is that spotting an Edgelord character and getting annoyed by him/her in a horror setting is just a partial thing, however it can be a major enough factor for not to like/like a show.
The crappy thing here is that the Edgelord can be a character that isn't really in any main role for the story. Simply because the setting of horror.
>does it show I do take my horror very seriously
Horror can be "characterless", too (darkness, infestation, etc), however it's again how one perceives it. People don't like it in entertainment if there is no clear target of wrath.
Although you don't like Edgelords, would you still like to hate something/someone in the horror show?

80% certain they will screw it up. Unless it has at least 10x the budget a normal show has. Still the outcome is no way secured.

Probably, if they at least nail the tone of the series they adapt then maybe it would be worthwhile.
A lot of Ito's stuff relies on over-detailed panels, which may translate badly into animation.

Exactly. His work doesn't solely depend on an idea but equally on an execution as well.
