I copied a folder to a flash drive using a windows 7 computer and when I plug the flash drive into my windows 10 computer the flash drive is empty why?
what if you plug it back in to the windows 7 computer?

did you just pull the thumbdrive out of the win7 machine, or did you use the "dismount hardware safely" thing? windows might not have finished writing the data to the thumbdrive before you yanked it out.

I used the safe remove hardware feature
Does your file explorer on Win10 have the same viewing options as on Win7? Maybe the file type is hidden, or hidden by whatever application is trying to open it.

idk
Can you view any files in the drive? Can you put win10 files in the drive and look at them from win7?
I get this sometimes too, even with ejecting the drives. To fix this, I've found that completely shutting down my computer before removing the drive is the safest bet.
Sometimes windows explorer can get stuck in process, but shutting down ejects the drives and kills all processes obviously as well.
