How do you modify softsub fonts? I'm talking about changing

the options menu of your media player. use something like vlc or mpc, not windows media player or whatever

Those are PGS subtitles, you can't do anything to them because they're literally bitmap images laid over the video, not text. RH is a dubfag group that just rips from English-language licensed discs. You need a better release. For K-On I recommend:

S1: Tsundere
S2: DAE (annoyingly has the English audio track set to default but you can easily tell your media player to default to Japanese and they are otherwise the best release)
Movie: FBI
