I have over 20,000 images and I just back them up 1-2 a month on two external hard drives. It takes a few minutes so its nothing that annoying.

If you have Windows, it will do it for you without asking after you set it as a file backup, and will keep doing it after you want it to stop

Mega has 50GB free storage, wouldn't bother backing up media though since you can always redownload it.
