I was told I can set my rasbpi up as a VPN. I googled and found a few guides. How does this work? Won't they still just be able to see my Pi requesting the information from my house? Also does anyone have a link to a good guide to follow
pretty sure you're still going to need an ACTUAL vpn service to connect to making your raspberry pi as a vpn a wasted step.

Of course they will. A VPN is just a network formed on top of another network; the people using "VPN" to mean "magical anonymising piracy device" are misusing the term.

The point of running your own VPN from home is to have personal security and no filters when connecting from public WiFi or something.
Do you need this?

Oh, and to access all the shit that's behind your firewall.

Nope. I just don't wanna get arrested by passive surveillance for all the shit I definitely don't torrent. Any good recommendations for VPN services instead of me making another thread?

You can get a feralbox to torrent on.

$10 for a terabyte of storage doesn't sound bad at all.

NordVPN or PIA are the best ones, not the cheapest but they don't keep logs. If you don't really understand what you would use a raspi VPN for, don't bother with it, just get a paid VPN and torrent away.
