I want to build up my ptw list, but I have seen a lot of stuff so I usually get recommended things I've already see. So what I'm got to do is I'll mention some of my favorites. If those are also among your favorite anime then post your mal account which I just want to look through the anime on the list that I haven't seen through the "shared" feature.
Favorites:
Neon Genesis Evangelion (especially End of Evangelion), Angel’s Egg, Kaiba, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Serial Experiments Lain, Casshern Sins, FLCL, Belladonna of Sadness, Tatami Galaxy

If I could suggest anything it would be Welcome to the NHK and Paranoia agent.
Go ahead and check out my list I don't think it's the best but it's what I got.

I've seen both of those and liked them a lot, but they're more on the 8/10 level for me.

Ay good taste can I get your MAL?

Sure, but I don't have that many scores. For along time I had none, but recently after hiting the 1000 marks I decided to make a lit of shows that were impressive/interesting and weren't something I just watched to killed of time. I only gave scores to those:

Thanks, this is the kind of account I was looking for. Someone who likes the good stuff but also has seen a really big amount of stuff. Even though you seem to be more into space and realism while I'm into weirdness and artsiness.
Do you recommend the Ace wo Nerae movie more than the series? I was thinking of watching it in some form, because of its influenc on Gunbuster.

By principle I'd almost always say watch a series before watching a movie summary, essentially. But in this case you might as well go ahead. The movie is a lot less grounded in direction style than the series and that sounds more your thing.

You meant a lot more?

Less grounded, the art is a bit more out there and so is direction.
