Hi I am on a fresh install of windows 7. Am concerned about running the updates, does it still force people into windows 10?
Anywhere I can only download and install the service pack?
Thanks for any and all help.
The free update for win10 passed quite a while ago, now you'll have to buy it or "buy" it if you want it

no it doesn't but i use wsusoffline updater i find it faster and you can set it to restart then carry on and turn off your comp when finished plus it's not a install
http://download.wsusoffline.net/

I dont know what this is...
Is there a place I can dowload the updates needed as files and run them?

will download all the updates you need including service packs and make a cab file, i use this because i reinstall or upgrade at least 3 comps a week and windows catching initially is a nightmare, once the cab as been made i can use this on other comps without having to redownload updates, but to be honest windows 7 updates have been quick this week ive actually used their service 2 rather than use wsusoffline

Bullshit.
Just run setup.exe off W10 media in W7, or do a clean install then enter a W7 sticker key.
Still works just fine, and if Microsoft itself says I have a digital license, then a digital license I have.

The newest Windows 7 ISO has SP1 already integrated.

I would suggest not doing WSUS offline. The couple of times I've tried it I've always been lead to hours of wasted time letting it do it's thing and STILL being told by Windows 7 that I still need to install all the updates WSUS supposedly just installed.
I suggest installing 7 and then using this page https://www.howtogeek.com/228551/how-to-stop-windows-7-or-8-from-downloading-windows-10-automatically/ to look on how to avoid the Windows 10 upgrad while getting the other WIndows 7 updates.
I installed it with win update. It says I have 2 successful installs. Is that normal?
