I'm looking for anime like Evangelion, Angel's Egg or Kaiba. Anime that have a big amount of honesty and sincerity to them and aren't edgy, cynical, pretentious and dark just for the sake of being dark. Something unique, interesting and maybe surreal but with a lot of heart.

Though I would say that FLCL was more cynical than Eva and tried a bit harder to "not to treat itself seriously". Tatami as well, though Haibane is spot on.
