Could someone explain to me this physics problem step by step?
I used the formula x= x0 + vt to get 1400, which is pretty close to t=20. Is this how I verify the answer for the first problem? Or, do I have to use the slope= x/t = average velocity formula for the first part.
Also, explain the second part without giving the answer.
(No, is is not homework. Really, I am doing physics of my own free will in the middle of the summer.)
To clarify (from OP)
1400= 250 + (57.5* 20)

In part 1 they're asking you to pick some points, and do change in x over change in t. Since velocity clearly isn't constant, your method doesn't make sense here. Also, note that you actually need to figure out 2 velocities: one to the left of t=20, and one to the right. Both need to use the same amound of time, so let's say you look at 15-20 and 20-25. Averaging them should give you the approximate value at t=20.
The second part is like this but easier, since the slope is constant. Hence, using any 2 points would give the same answer.
