Does anyone know why my formatting is screwed up and how

Should've mentioned this is in Word 2016. One-inch margins, 12 point new roman font, double spacing.

To fix whatever you did, update the style you're using from the paragraph you like, then apply it to the paragraph you don't.

- "update <whatever style> to match selection
- click on the wonky paragraph then click on <whatever style> in the ribbon
