Looking for "battling unseen entities" type media
weither it's anime, manga, comics, tv, movies, or books, i would like to get recommendations on a certain genre of fiction, the kind were you have people fighting beings that would normally be invisible but THEY are able to see them and thus are tasked to deal with them/fight them. some examples would be
-pic related ao no exorcist
-The Spiderwick Chronicles series
-Miriad colors phantom world
also i the whole "fighting unseen foes" thing has to be central to the plot, not just another side aspect of the larger story
i don't know what i would type into any search engine to find stuff like this so any contributions are much appreciated
For a sizable part of the story, the enemies in Gantz are invisible to the public, and no one suspects they are living among them.

Anything psycholocigal (fears), mental illness (fears), supernatural (fears) and horror (fears).
OP, you still want the weapon of your MC to touch and hurt the unseen antagonist, right?
Hm, Psychometer Eiji. No one reads it anymore.

>you still want the weapon of your MC to touch and hurt the unseen antagonist, right?
oh, sorry if i wasn't clear enough but yeah, i would only like recommendations were the people who can see the unseen foes are able to physically fight back, phychometrer seems like a good example

In Mushishi most people can't see the mushi that are causing them trouble. The protagonist doesn't fight them, but finds different ways to deal with them and solve the problem.
There is probably more stories where evil creatures look like normal humans to others but the protagonist can see them for what they are. If you have an interest in those, too, watch They Live, THE classic genre-defining movie, and play Hideo Kojima's Snatcher.

>Ajin, it's on netflix
Don't do this, the manga is outright superior
Manga: Noragami, Kekkaishi, Ajin
Book: Percy Jackson
Webcomic: Paranatural
