Do Kindle's allow you to put pdf's from your computer onto the kindle?
For reference, I'm talking about this version:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Amazon-Kindle-6-Inch-4GB-E-Reader/dp/B0186FESVC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1497797556&sr=8-1&keywords=kindle
If it does, does it support other filetypes, which ones?

According to Amazon's support page, the following file types are supported:
Word (DOC / DOCX)
HTML (ZIP, HTM, or HTML)
MOBI
ePub
Rich Text Format (RTF)
Plain Text (TXT)
Adobe PDF (PDF)
Kindle Package Format (KPF)
You can also use Calibre to convert files that aren't compatible.

Thanks anon

The problem I've had with a pdf file on a Kindle is that it treats the pdf as an image and not a text file. This means that if you want the text larger so that you can read it then you have to zoom in which then means you have to pan the document across the window to read it, and then pan back to get to the next line. I would strongly recommend using Calibre to convert any pdf to a mobi format, like >>333519 suggests.
