So i'm having this problem with my computer. Can't launch overwatch or any game because my computer doesn't have winspool.drv.
Any ideas? Yes i have replaced it. Yes i have tried to reset my computer. Both failed.

yep. Tried that many times. So sfc doesn't work and keeps saying something like sfc failed even in safe mode.
I did manage to give myself permisions to create a new winspool.drv but the error message still pops up.
Thanks for the care though.. right now im using dism and windows 10 setup... any other ideas?

That's obviously a virus.
The real winspool handles printing, and doesn't try to inject itself into the graphics stack.

Going to check for any viruses. Will update.
On a side note, could it be possible for ccleaner registry cleaner to fuck up my computer's winspool?

just did a malwarebytes scan. No viruses detected, Welp

Totally.
But not even Overwatch is so shit as to try to load a printer driver and then fail if it can't.
i would start and check where exactly is the winspool.drv dependency coming from, but im not to sure if i can explain a simple way to do it in here.
can you run
>https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx
and see if on any of the tabs there is a reference for winspool.drv (use the filter/search)? there shouldn't so if you find one or more delete those entries (isnt a 16bit winspool runtime part? those shouldnt be included with any modern windows version, this is probably a rogue driver/injected module by some virus)
if that doesnt work all that remains is either minidump inspection (if those error even create one) and lastly manually checking each process/library load chain when the game is launched to see where its coming from

OP here. Don't know if you will still be here. Turns out my sysWOW64 folder didn't have the winspool .dvr. I tried moving the dvr from my system32 to the sysWOW64 but ended up with a 0xc000007b error. Any ideas?
If it also helps my computer has constantly been running on 100% disc usage. Even with little to no programs running. I'm starting to think some of my torrents may have a bitcoin miner or some virus..
>>330882
So i just did this. Nope. No tabs reference winspool.dvr

just used malwarebytes free trial.

OP, malwarebytes searches for malware, thus the name
you need an antivirus, AVAST, KASPERSKY or whatever /g/ is making fun of these days
if you don't have one you should have one that comes with the windows. I think it's called defender or something, you should see it in the control panel
