I'm looking for an old movie I saw as a kid. It could have been made anywhere from 80s to early 2000s, I think it's most likely 90s.
I don't remember much except that it was about puppets made of straw/ hay (similar to pic related) who were alive and I only really remember the scene where they were hanged by the locals but they couldn't die (since they were straw puppets), so they asked to be burned instead.
It was either a kids movie or a drama.

Can't remember the details, sorry. But it definetly wasn't a horror/ dark atmosphere movie, so I doubt it had any dark magic involved.
