Gweled. You can always try to play one of the jewels to vanish. It's shown to be possible.

...d'oh, now I spotted the sandbox requirement.

Minecraft.
Emulators work too so you can play any console game.

I only know open source.
OpenTTD is pretty entertaining, you build roads and make commerce, there is no limit.
OpenCRT is similar, but you control a theme park https://openrct2.org/
If you are looking for relaxing Liquid War is that http://www.ufoot.org/download/liquidwar/v6/media/ERKgW7PWSU0-1280x720.webm
For sandbox game try Minetest if you don't want Minecraft.

I just remember OpenDungeons, lets you manage your own evil dungeon while heroes try to break in.

You should try factorio.
Proteus is a minimalistic walking simulator.
Tiny and Big: Grandpa's Leftovers is a linear physics 3D puzzle platformer, but you have a lot of freedom in how you carve up the territory. It has stressful moments though.
Reminder that HITMAN works in Linux.
I don't know how stressful this is.
