It just came to mind randomly, but I'm in the mood for a very specific type of story, that being one that revolves around someone's death (i.e. a character that is dead before the story starts) and isn't overly edgy. Does anyone know of any movies/manga/anime/comics like such?
An ideal one would be one that involves a dead person that the lead character doesn't know very well, but as that's probably much too specific, any mentions similar to the aforementioned description would be appreciated.
The closest thing I can think of is Colorful (although I haven't watched it), but it's a bit too otherworldly compared to what I have in mind.

Not really what I'm looking for, but thanks anyway.
I'm not looking for something where the dead character is "alive" at all, rather the other characters' thoughts of them are what would drive the story.
