you could put just the cache on a ramdisk safely, pretty sure you can disable the disk cache entirely in firefox as well (pretty pointless to have disk cache in a ramdisk, might as well just increase the size of the memory cache)

you could increase the session saving timer, just keep in mind that if something goes wrong (power cut?) your session will be rolled back that amount of time
