Good gift for an uncle?
The guy works his ass off all the time. Makes good ass food for his family because his wife almost always feels like shit, works as a housing electrician and all-purpose repairman, is basically the father to his granddaughter because her father is a gone piece of shit, always doing favors for people, and whenever I visit he always offers to pay for food when they get takeout and drives me to the airport several times a year. He's a good ass dude and I feel like I use him (which I kinda do but not willingly) so I want to get him something to repay for all the things he's done for me.
I don't want to do something too personal, but again I don't want to give him something shit. Suggestions on something to get him? I prefer to get him something in the $15 to $30 range.

Your budget seems low but try seeing if he is still using something very old that needs to be replaced. Keyword is need because he seems like a guy that isn't needlessly frivolous.

I'm thankful as fuck for the dude but getting him something more expensive isn't necessary. $30 is plenty for a gift.
I was considering power tools but I'm sure he's got all that he needs and that's a bit more personal of a gift which I'd rather stray from. I'm thinking of it now, but would a gas gift card be too shit of a gift? I have no idea what else I could get the guy.
Maybe if he cooks a lot, invite him for a nice dinner at a good location.

Just give him a hand when he needs one. Just be there for him and help him out when he needs help. Those kind of guys never ask help, therefore you should show some wit and care about it.

If you can stir up something among his family/his friends, you could offer him a bigger gift. If everyone pitch in 30 (for something like a week-end out with the wife), he has a bigger present and, more importantly, recognition for what he does from the whole entourage.

That's too personal. Me and him wouldn't have a whole lot to talk about and that's just an unusual choice.

I help him as much as I can but I really think he deserves something, especially with all the rides he provides me.

I like this idea but I want to do something "from me to him," for all the shit he's done for me.
